Job Opening: Videographer/Photographer at Crimson

Join Our Dynamic Team and Create Impactful Visual Stories

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation: Capture high-quality photographs and video footage for various projects including documentaries, promotional content, and social media updates.
2. Post-Production: Handle the editing of video footage and photographs, ensuring that the final output aligns with Crimson’s standards and client expectations.
3. Storyboarding and Conceptualization: Work closely with the creative team to develop visual storytelling concepts and storyboards.
4. Equipment Maintenance: Manage and maintain photography and videography equipment, ensuring all tools are in working order and ready for use.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including graphic designers, project managers, and communication specialists to ensure a cohesive and integrated project approach.

6. Field Work: Conduct on-site shooting in various environments, adapting to lighting and space conditions while ensuring high-quality output.
7. Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to ethical standards of storytelling, respecting the dignity and privacy of all subjects involved, and align with the overall mission of our clients.

Requirements:

1. Professional Experience: Proven experience in videography and photography with a strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of skills from conceptualization to final production.
2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using professional cameras, drones, lighting, audio equipment, and editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Lightroom.
3. Creativity and Artistic Insight: Exceptional eye for detail and a strong sense of visual aesthetics appropriate for a variety of clients including humanitarian and UN agencies.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and interact with clients.
5. Adaptability: Ability to work in diverse environments and adapt to challenges that may arise during field assignments.
6. Ethical Sensitivity: Understanding of and commitment to ethical issues in photography and videography, especially in sensitive or crisis-affected contexts.
7. Desirable Skills: Experience in motion design and proficiency in Adobe After Effects is considered a plus.

We're thrilled to share the design and data visualization work we've done for the International Republican Institute (IRI). The report, "Voices from Central and Eastern Europe: Emerging Leaders Speak on the Second Annual Transatlantic Security Initiative," examines various pressing security issues.

The design features a minimalist cover with a key visual representing the voices of the report's contributors. The content is complemented by a selection of maps and infographics to clearly present the findings, all of which align with IRI's branding.

This past April, Crimson had the privilege of creating a visual narrative for the Africa Election Watch Symposium.

Hosted by the International Republican Institute and the Electoral Support Network in Southern Africa. Attendees converged in Johannesburg for key discussions on promoting peaceful processes, strengthening citizen observer networks, reforming political financing, and supporting credible elections in 2023 in Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, and the DRC. Our minimalistic logo and accompanying materials aimed to reflect the gravity and unity of these discussions.
