DC ZUNHEBOTO INFORMS ON RESTRICTIONS OF VEHICULAR MOVEMENTS

Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS through a circular has informed all concerned that, bituminous work of NH 702A between Assam Rifle gate and Asukhomi village will commence from 19th January 2025.

In this regard, plying of all heavy vehicles is restricted from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM till the completion of the said work. However, light and medium vehicles will be allowed to ply normally.

The Sรผmi Hoho, along with the Western Sรผmi Hoho with all its frontal organizations, Sรผmi elders and the Church leaders, convened an important consultative meeting with senior Sรผmi leaders from the Naga national political groups at Kuhuboto town. This pivotal gathering was centered around fostering unity and strengthening bonds among the Sรผmi leadership, with the overarching goal of contributing positively to the wider Naga community.

During the meeting, the leaders unanimously emphasized that the Sรผmi leadership must embody unity, both in spirit and in action. This call for solidarity is rooted in the belief that only through collective effort and shared vision can the broader aspirations of the Naga people be fully realized. The leaders expressed that maintaining harmonious and mutually respectful relationships with all Naga tribes is essential for peace, progress, and lasting cohesion within the region.

The Sรผmi Hoho further stressed that it is imperative for the leaders of the Sรผmi Naga National Political Groups to foster stronger and more interactive relationships with the general public. Such engagement is vital for bridging gaps, ensuring transparency, and nurturing trust between leaders and the communities they represent. Ayushman Pakhwada Celebrated at Zunheboto District Hospital

*Zunheboto, September 30* โ€” The Office of the Chief Medical Officer, in collaboration with the District Implementation Unit (DIU) AB-PMJAY, concluded the Ayushman Pakhwada celebrations at the District Hospital Conference Hall on 30th September
marking the 6th anniversary of the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). The event featured Shri Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto and Chairman of DIU AB-PMJAY/CMHIS, as the chief guest.

In his address, Mali highlighted the scheme's impact, stating that over 12 crore poor and vulnerable families benefit from it, translating to around 55 crore individuals nationwide. He emphasized the importance of public awareness regarding the schemeโ€™s benefits and urged the health department to improve communication for better access to services.

Dr. Antoly Suu, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, chaired the event and reiterated the significance of Ayushman Bharat, encouraging eligible beneficiaries to utilize the schemeโ€™s cashless healthcare services at empanelled hospitals. She also called on community leaders to promote awareness and ensure registration among their constituents.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Shikato Sema, District Nodal Officer for AB-PMJAY, who pointed out that PM-JAY is the worldโ€™s largest government-financed health insurance scheme, offering Rs. 5 lakh coverage per family for hospitalization in public and private hospitals.

Several beneficiaries shared personal stories of how AB-PMJAY and the Chief Ministerโ€™s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) alleviated their financial burdens during medical treatment.

The program attracted a diverse audience, including representatives from the Sumi Hoho, local governing bodies, students, and medical staff. A special performance by Akavi Yeptho added to the event's vibrancy, and Viboto P Jakha, District Coordinator AB-PMJAY/CMHIS, delivered the vote of thanks.

Following the main event, a free medical health camp was organized specifically for sanitation workers, ensuring they received necessary medical care. Dr. Akaho Sema, Senior Surgeon, confirmed that these workers would benefit from free treatment, showcasing the hospitalโ€™s commitment to community health.

During an exclusive interview, Dr. Shikato Sema, Senior Surgeon and Nodal Officer for PMJAY, revealed that more than 700 patients have availed themselves of the benefits from the scheme, generating between 40-50 lakh. This funding has played a crucial role in the renovation and development of the hospital, including the acquisition of essential medical equipment and medicines. He announced plans to introduce dialysis machines very soon.

This event not only celebrated the achievements of the Ayushman Bharat scheme but also underscored the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility and infrastructure in the Zunheboto district.

*Nito Theological College Celebrates Literary and Fine Arts Day*

*Zunheboto, September 28* โ€” Nito Theological College (NTC) celebrated its Literary and Fine Arts Day on September 28 at the Chapal Hall, centered around the theme "Unlocking Potentials: The Value of Literature and Skills Learning." The event was coordinated by Ms. Likivi Chophy with Mr. Viki K. Zhimo, President of the Zunheboto Range Students Union, who served as the Master of Events.

The program showcased a variety of activities, including Upcycling, poetry readings, a Spell Bee, a quiz competition, and a debate on the NLTP Act of 1989. A special panel of judges was present, featuring Mr. Holonto S. Zhimo, General Secretary of the ZRSU, and Ms. Athungbeni W. Shritiri, a Post Graduate Teacher at the Government Higher Secondary School. along with Assistant Professors from NTC Faculty members Ms. Vilibo Yeptho, Ms. Mughatoli Zhimo, Mr. Heroto N Shikhu and Ms. Kaholi X. Yeptho

In his keynote address, Mr. Viki Zhimo emphasized that learning is a lifelong journey and highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in fostering skills and talents in young leaders. He stated that organizing such activities within a theological institute is crucial for developing leadership qualities.

Mr. Zhimo also spoke passionately about the significance of the mother tongue, Sutsa, and urged attendees to uphold Nito Theological College, noting its vital role in the community despite the current challenges of low student enrollment. He reminded everyone that NTC belongs to every individuals especially the Sumi and NTC being in the Center at the SBAK Nito Mount Zunheboto.

In an interview with the Academic Dean, it was revealed that the college currently has 84 students, supported by 20 teaching and non-teaching staff.

The event was a vibrant celebration of creativity and learning, reinforcing the collegeโ€™s commitment to nurturing future leaders in both faith and skills.

ZUNHEBOTO TOWN COUNCIL NEW REGULATIONS

In a coordination meeting held on 27 August, the Zunheboto Town Council with the Zunheboto Town GB's Association, announced new regulations concerning daily wage labour rates and commercial practices, set to take effect from 1 September 2024.

1. Daily Wage Rates: The following wage rates for laborers have been established:
- Skilled Mistry: Rs. 800 per day
- Assistant Mistry: Rs. 700 per day
- Helper Male: Rs. 600 per day
- Helper Female: Rs. 500 per day

failing to adhere to these rates will incur a penalty of Rs. 2000, as stipulated by the Municipal Act.

Zunheboto Town Council has also issued an order on the following;

1. Receipt Issuance: All shops categorized below the grades of Super, A, or B are now required to issue cash memos or receipts for transactions. This measure aims to enhance transparency and address complaints related to rate control and other issues. Non-compliance will attract a fine of Rs. 1000 under the Municipal Act, effective from 1 September.

2. Parking Tax Exemption: In a bid to support student welfare and convenience, government and private school/College buses are exempt from paying parking tax within town jurisdiction between 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

These new directives are intended to streamline labour compensation practices, improve commercial transaction transparency, and facilitate better transportation for students.
