In a digital arrest scam, fraudsters impersonate law enforcement officers to deceive their victims.

A recent fraudulent scheme has surfaced, leading to substantial financial losses for individuals and businesses, amounting to crores of rupees. This scam operates under the guise of “digital arrest,” where fraudsters deceitfully impersonate law enforcement officials to deceive their victims. Prime Minister Modi has issued a public advisory, urging citizens to report any such incidents to the cyber helpline. Furthermore, the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In) has provided a list of methodologies employed by these fraudsters to carry out online scams, including the digital arrest scam.

The Apatani Students’ Union held a screening test on 20/10/24 for their “MISSION CIVIL SERVICE” program, which offers free coaching to the top 10 APPSC aspirants from the community. Out of the 329 students who enrolled, 219 showed up for the test. The test was held in three locations: Ziro (53 students), Itanagar (76 students), and Naharlagun (90 students). The General Secretary of ASU, Shri Koj Nichi, and the Education Secretary, Shri Koj Rissang, led the mission as the organizing Chairman and organizing secretary, respectively.

The result will be declared by 21/10/24.
