After the assessment, parents will be apprised of their child’s condition and a detailed plan for intervention will be provided by the developmental paediatrician.

What is Child Development?
Child development is a process every child goes through. This process involves learning and mastering skills. There are five main areas of development in which children develop skills: Cognitive, social, emotional, Speech and Language, fine and gross motor skills development. Most children learn these skills, called developmental milestones, during predictable time periods. Milestones develop in a sequential fashion. From birth to 5 years, your child should reach milestones in how he or she plays, learns, speaks, acts and moves.
Ensure healthy child development
Screening, early identification, and linkage to services can prevent vulnerable children (i.e., children at risk for or with a developmental delay) from progressing to levels of higher risk.
This process should begin right from the time of birth. Regular screenings with early childhood professionals help raise awareness of a child’s development, making it easier to celebrate developmental milestones.
