Our story

The IESHR is a peer-reviewed history journal which publishes original research on the economic and social history of the Indian subcontinent, and South Asia more generally. The recent impact factor is .659, and the IESHR has consistently been one of the foremost peer-reviewed journals in this field for many years. Our editorial board consists of eminent historians, each of whom specialises in a particular field of history; namely G. Balachandran, Whitney Cox, Pankaj K. Jha, Sunil Kumar, Tirthankar Roy, and Sanjay Subrahmanyam.
