Women are the worst of the lot across all intersectional issues!
This is a factor that I am faced with repeatedly. When I first started working on my nonprofit WE Woman Endangered Madhuri Narayanan was the first to apprise me of this phenomenon. The disparity against women cuts across all other sustainable development issues.

Youth4Jobs I Mapping the journey of a Changemaker
Meet SABERA Awardee Meera Shenoy who has been mainstreaming youth with disabilities in education and the workplace. I had the privilege of chatting with the remarkable Ruma Roka founder of NNoida Deaf Society a true inspiration in the field of empowering the Deaf community. SABERA Awardee Ruma's journey is a testament to the incredible impact one person can make on the lives of many.
In our conversation, Ruma shared an extraordinary story of Geeta, a 16-year-old girl from Haryana who came to her seeking help to escape an impending marriage. Geeta's parents feared the social stigma attached to her and her deaf brother. Ruma took Geeta under her wing, and today, Geeta is a seasoned officer with Axis Bank for a decade, working seamlessly alongside colleagues who can hear. This transformation is a testament to the power of determination and the impact of Ruma's work.
Ruma embarked on her own journey of learning Indian Sign Language at the age of 40. She draws daily inspiration from the incredible resilience and determination of the children she works with. Starting with just five children, Ruma has touched the lives of a staggering 57,000 children and youth with deafness.
