Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) is finalizing an SAR 8 billion deal with Saudi Binladin Group to resume construction on the Jeddah Tower.

Formerly known as Kingdom Tower, this iconic skyscraper will be the tallest building in the world once completed. After several delays, work is expected to restart in October 2024. The tower, originally designed to soar over 1,000 meters, was put on hold in 2018 due to financial challenges.

A consortium of Saudi companies, including Kingdom Holding Company and Sumou Holding, has recently acquired the Alinma Jeddah Economic Fund, which is responsible for the development of Jeddah Economic City and its centerpiece, the Jeddah Tower. Kingdom Holding now holds a 40% stake in the fund, which is valued at SAR 6.8 billion.
