A wild elephant died after being hit by a goods train in Assam's Hojai district on Thursday (September 8) evening.

JIRSONG FC UMRANGSO WON THE 8th VEER SAMBHUDHAN PHONGLOSA MEMORIAL FOOTBALL KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT-2021.

SINGJURI, 31st Oct. 2021: Jirsong FC Umrangso defeated Pub Gojalipar Hawraghat in the final match the 8th Veer Sambhudhan Phonglosa Memorial Football Knockout Tournament-2021. The tournament was organized by Demalu Sports Association of Singjuri Village Playground Lanka Hojai.
The final match of the tournament was witnessed by the DEEO Shri Lavja Jarambusa as the Chief Guest. Mr. Bharat Tamuli Phukan Senior Advocate, Shri Nobin Jahari-President of All Dimasa Students’ Union(ADSU) Smt. Mamata Thausen-ITDP chairman Hojai, Mr. Udhyan Kumar Gogoi,Mr Sanjib Hajong, and others senior citizens of area.
The tournament started on 3rd Oct.2021. At last Jirsong FC came out as a winner and lifted the Veer Sambhudhan Phonglosa Trophy along with a cash amount of Rs. 50,000 and the runners-up team Pub Gojalipar take away a cash amount of Rs.30,000 along with trophy.

Cleanliness Drive organised by ADSU Maibang Branch committee at Ranachandi Temple (Maibang Stone House). The cleanliness drive was accompanied by Sjt. Mairing Johori GS ADSU and Sjt. Prinish Daulagupu Secretary ADSU along with the members of the ADSU Maibang Unit on 22 July 2021.

The Archaeological Department kept it neglected without maintaining the heritage site.
