Let's see how India's largest carmaker has invested in CSR:
MSIL has mainly invested Rs 154 crore towards CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities in 2018-19, focusing mainly on
1. Community development
2. Road safety
3. Skill development
1. Community Development:
1.1 MSIL has taken up community development efforts in 26
villages of Haryana and Gujarat, by setting up 21 water
ATMs in 20 villages.
1.2 MSIL has constructed more than 4,000 toilets, laid sewer
lines and provided support on waste management.
2. Road Safety:
2.1 MSIL has partnered with the Delhi Police to implement 2
systems in Feb 2019:
2.1.1 Speed Violation Detection System (SVDS)
2.1.2 Red Light Violation Detection System (RLVDS)
3. Skill Development:
3.1 In the Financial Year 2018-19, MSIL trained around 4 lakh
people at the seven Institutes of Driving Training and
Research (IDTRs) and 16 Road Safety Knowledge
Centers (RSKC).
3.2 Besides, Maruti Suzuki India has continued to support
over 110 government ITI's across the country.
Finally it looks like MSIL is focused on creating a visible social impact with its CSR initiatives. The projects are selected based on need-assessment and stakeholder consultation.
