Fake CBI officials targeting rich people
Police have arrested two youths from Katpadi for allegedly intimidating rich people by claiming CBI officials.
In the Katpadi area next to Vellore, the police were involved in a vehicle audit. At the time, two youths in a two-wheeler were asked for licenses, including folding licenses. Young people say, "Do you know who we are? We are CBI officers. Are you stooping our vehicle?" and the police have been intimidated by the alleged identity cards.
Police were suspicious of the two-wheeler because it had a sticker attached to it as an Army ID and did not appear to be CBI officers. It was revealed that Madheen (43) from Virudhampattu and Hariharan (28) from Pannirselvam Street, Kalinjore were both fake CBI officers.
The police arrested them, took them to the police station and began an investigation. Police inspector Govindasamy said, “Madin, who was arrested, is running canteen at a shoe company in Sadapperi area. Hariharan has been working for 4 years with him. Both were planning to extort money from the affluent.
As a matter of fact, they shared pictures of themselves in uniform claiming to be an IPS officer. Moreover, neighbors are convinced that Hariharan is working as Assistant Commissioner and Madin Assistant Inspector in the CBI. Rich has gone to the homes of businessmen with slick looks.
Trusting them as CBI officers, many were afraid and they have sent money. Recently, a regional traffic officer was involved in vehicle audits. When they folded the vehicle and asked for licenses, they intimidated him. We have confiscated identity cards that were fabricated as CBI officers.
