Popular Tollywood singer Geetha Madhuri will perform on January 14 at Silk City Fest 2023 to be held from January 13 to 17 in Berhampur to mark "Makar Sankranti Special".

Geetha Madhuri is an Indian playback singer and voice artist. Madhuri has sung over 1800 songs in several languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. She is a recepeint of numerous Nandi Awards and Filmfare awards.

The Venugopal Swamy Temple in Gopalpur is the oldest temple found in the area and the Name "Gopalpur" was named after Lord Venu Gopal Swamy. Unfortunately, this temple has been ignored and not developed since last few decades by the owners.

Inspite of several developments activities going on in Gopalpur, the District administration failing to focus to include century old Venugopal Swamy in the itinitary of Tourism.

The present temple structure constructed on March 6, 1895 by Sri Kandula Nagaya with the land location by Sri Nalam Veerayya, Sri Nalam Padmanabham & Sri Nagaya himself. Till 1910 the temple was maintained by Sri Nagaya and afterward by Sri Nalam Padmanabham & his family. The construction of the temple is a hybrid Archtecture commonly seen in Kalinga dynasty with the south ascent.

The people of Gopalpur worship lord Venugopal Swamy as their "Ista Devata". The temple Prasadam was very popular few decades back and devotees from Brahmapur and other parts of G***am paid their visit every time they visit Gopalpur.

The Britishers have the trend to name the places with it's name with nearby landmarks and they named the place "Gopalpur".

The temple is only a hundred meters away from Sea Beach and it requires District Administration efforts to promote Gopalpur by developing the temple with modern facilities.

The significance of this century old temple has to be restored by developing the infrastructure, amenities & tourism.

Citizens above 15 years & senior citizens also participated in the 5kms long Marathon. More than 5 thousand people participated in the Marathon.

Rotary Club of Berhampur will conduct a Dental & Eye Screening camp for 10,000+ school students in 69 schools in Rangrilunda Block of G***am district, Rotary Club of Berhampur President Saryakam Patra informed at a Press Conference on Tuesday at RCS Hall, Brahmapur.

The Camp will be inaugurated at Upper Primary School, Hilpatna, Brahmapur by DEO on Wednesday, Mr. Patra said.

Rotary Club of Berhampur, Secretary Sarthak, V.Ajay Kumar, and R. Murali Krishna we're also on the dais. The project Chairman for the project is Jitendra Patro.

5 day long Gopalpur Beach Festival 2022 has concluded on Wednesday. The Gopalpur Beach Festival 2022 started on Dec 24 after a gap of two years.

The Gopalpur Beach Festival 2022 attracted huge gathering which was efficiently managed by the G***am District Administration.

Deeply saddened to receive the news that Prof Sunil K Behera Retd Prof of Journalism has left for his heavenly abode on Tuesday. As learnt he suffered a massive heart attack.
Prof Sunil had brought name & fame not only to BU but also Tejpur Central University.

As per his wish, Pfof Sunil Behera body was donated to MKCG Medical College Hospital, Berhampur on wednesday.

As a reliable & efficient lecturer, he had extended whole hearted support to the students & lectures..
