Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, the Block Medical Officer Tral, received an award of excellence during the Scientific Conference of Technicians in the Health Department, held today at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) Srinagar. The prestigious event was attended by Sh. Satish Sharma, the Minister of ARI and Trainings, along with other distinguished guests. During the conference, the Block Medical officer Tral, also delivered a lecture about the importance of technicians in the health department.

Will write to Centre to release funds under ISSS for pension of widows, specially-abled: Sakina Itoo

Says increasing pension to Rs 3,000 per month under active consideration

Srinagar, Dec 06 (KNO): Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo on Friday said that she will write to the Centre to release funds for pension of specially-abled, widows and other persons.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Sakina Itoo, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that these persons have been getting pension on time but there are some who get it under ISSS scheme and they have been facing problems due to shortage of funds.

“We will write to the Government of India in this regard as a major share for the scheme that comes from the centre has been released," she said.

She said that they are hopeful that they will get funds soon so that people who are waiting for their pension for a long time can get it.

She said that many specially-abled individuals and widows, who rely on these pensions as their primary source of income, face severe hardships due to lack of timely financial support.

She added that Rs 1000 per month is very less and increasing it to Rs 3000 per month is under active consideration of the government—(KNO)

CRPF Personnel Dies In Anantnag

Srinagar, December 6(GNS): A CRPF personnel died after he fell unconscious in Mattan area of South Anantnag district.

Officials told GNS that during intervening night a CRPF personnel who was posted at Mattan developed syncope and was evacuated to PHC Mattan for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead. Preliminary investigation suggest that he died of cardiac arrest.

He has been identified as constable Azad Ahmad Najar son of Gull Mohd Najar resident of Sheikhpora Uttersoo.

Meanwhile, police has registered a case in this regard and investigation have been taken up.(GNS)

4 Killed, 13 Others Injured, Two Of Them Critical In Kishtwar Road Accident

Jammu, December 4(GNS): Atleast four people were killed while as thirteen others were injured in road accident at Dangduru Dam site in Kishtwar district.

Officials told GNS that vehicle bearing registration number JK-17 6576 carrying passengers lost its control and fell into deep gorge.

In this incident four people were killed while as thirteen others were injured. All of them were immediately shifted to nearby hospital, where condition of two persons is being stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this regard and investigation have been taken up in this regard.(GNS)

Srinagar Gunfight: Militant Killed In Dachigam, Operation On

Srinagar, December 3(GNS): One unidentified militant has been killed in an overnight gunfight in Dachigam area of Harwan area of Srinagar district on Tuesday.

A top police officer told GNS that a specific input was recieved by police and security forces and further cordon and search operation was launched on Monday late evening in Dachigam area.

During firefight one unidentified militant has been killed so far. However operation in the area was underway.
