Trishul
It was our third short film which, was based on the theme in the Hindu Mythology – Ardhanari, focuses on the life of Transgenders and our society’s view towards them.
We faced a lot difficulties during the making of this film due to the socio-cultural barriers and tried to portray the film as real as possible.
The film was written by Suthy and directed by Amal J Prasad with his exceptional skills. The two important factors behind the film was the camera work by Sibin Chandran who captured the minds of the audience with the Visuals and the soulful music of Kalidas R. Assistant Director Bivin Vijayakumar who was with us throughout the work, Assistant Cameraman Firdous Nizar & Aneesh, Art Director Ananthu Sreekumar & Vishnu Achary and Production Controller Ananthu Muraleedharan contributed a lot of effort to make it into a beautiful film.
We owe our courtesy to the editing team Abhi Fidac & Ajith Dev's as well as Sree Vishnu JS, Fiher AP & Kannan Mettukkada who beautifully rendered the soundtrack that brought life to the movie along with the VFX artist Vishu Prasenan. The motion poster was done by Sivi Sasidharan and Achu Abhijith assisted with the helicam for the beautiful aerial shots.
One main thing to be pointed out in the film was the appearance of the characters Shiva and Shivani. For that Asma supported us with the make-up and costume and did 100% justice to it.
It was Suthy himself, who gave life to the characters Shiva and Shivani in the movie. RJ Sumitha played the role of Janani the mother of the lead character and the Fathers part was acted by Shambu. Child artist Badri and Gauri also played an important role. Arun Bhai, Sidharth, Anand MR, Namzad, Vivek, Ananda Krishnan, JR Varma, Bivin, Ashe, Firdous, Akhil Udayan Nitish, Ananthu, Amal and Amala were also acted in the film.
Our sincere gratitude to the artists Asma, Sreekutty, Ranjini, Maya, Sakina, Karthika who acted in the film and the dubbing artist Surya Ishan & Shyama who gave voice to the characters in the movie from the Transgender welfare community OasisOasis Tvm. We are really happy and proud to provide them a small chance to showcase their real talent to the world. The big part of the film was the entire crew positively stood together for many complicated and explicit scenes, including the sexual ones to make the film more realistic.
The film was released at Lenin Balavadi in Trivandrum and received many favourable reviews and recognition. As it is a festival competition film, the premiere is still being sponsored by many cinephiles.
The first look poster of the film was released by Transgenders at the Manaveeyam veedhi in Trivandrum. The third look poster was released by the Actor Dileep by the assistance of Vivek Thottakkadu at the venue provided by Cine Moonga.
