The actor, who portrays Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in SonyLIV's highly anticipated series Freedom at Midnight, has captivated audiences with his exceptional talent and dedication. From representing Jammu and Kashmir in national-level sports to dazzling the silver screen, Gupta's journey is a testament to perseverance and passion.

A Hometown Hero:

Born on April 23, 1989, in Jammu, Sidhant Gupta grew up amidst the serene landscapes of the region. He honed his skills in sports, representing J&K in cricket, swimming, and basketball at various national tournaments. A young dreamer, Gupta moved to Delhi to pursue a commercial pilot's license, but destiny had other plans. His family, deeply rooted in Jammu, includes his father Sukesh Gupta, a retired forestry official, and his mother Sandhya Gupta, a celebrated fashion designer and social activist. His brother Sanat Gupta and sister-in-law Himani continue the family legacy with their successful fashion business in Jammu.

Rising Star in Entertainment:

Gupta's foray into entertainment began with a modeling career that saw him grace campaigns for top brands like Hero Honda, Clear Shampoo, Maruti Suzuki Nano, and Close Up. He became a regular at prestigious fashion events such as Wills India Fashion Week and Delhi Fashion Week, walking for designers like Varun Bahl, Rohit Bal, and Sabyasachi Mukherjee. His striking presence landed him features in prominent publications, including India Today and The Deccan Chronicle.

In 2012, Gupta made his film debut with Tutiya Dil, followed by his breakout role as Dev Arora in Badmashiyaan. However, it was his portrayal of Kunj Sarna in Zee TV's popular soap opera Tashan-e-Ishq (2015–2016) that cemented his status as a household name. His performances in Bhoomi (2017) and Operation Romeo (2022) further showcased his versatility.

The Journey to Nehru:

Gupta’s latest triumph, Freedom at Midnight, is a crowning jewel in his illustrious career. Directed by Nikkhil Advani and based on Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins’ celebrated book, the series delves into India’s historic struggle for independence. Stepping into the shoes of Pandit Nehru was no easy feat, but Gupta approached the role with relentless dedication.

“I felt a profound respect and admiration for Nehru during my research,” Gupta shared in an interview. “When I read the third episode, I knew this was it. I swore by the script, complemented by Nehru’s letters to Indira Gandhi and his autobiography.”

His previous success in Amazon Prime Video’s Jubilee, where he played aspiring filmmaker Jay Khanna, set the stage for this monumental role. Critics and audiences alike lauded his ability to embody complex characters with authenticity. NDTV’s Saibal Chatterjee described his performance as Nehru as “another feather in his cap.”

Despite his growing fame, Gupta has never forgotten his roots. His success is not just a personal victory but also a matter of pride for Jammu. Media Titans Outclass Zia Sports Club with a commanding Seven-Wicket Win

Srinagar, December 7: Media Titans put on a dominant display, defeating Zia Sports Club by 7 wickets in an exciting cricket encounter. The match was played at SP College Cricket Ground.

Winning the toss, Zia Sports Club decided to bat first but struggled to build any significant partnership. The disciplined bowling attack of Media Titans, led by Firdous Qadri, Nadeem, Suhail Bhat and Owais Gul restricted Zia Sports Club for just 77 runs. Firdous rattled the opposition by taking four wickets while Suhail Bhat took two.

Chasing a modest score of 78 runs, Media Titans achieved the target comfortably in just 10 overs, losing only 3 wickets in the process. Suhail Bhat top-scored with an unbeaten 32 runs, while Nadeem provided key contributions with both bat and ball.

Firdous Qadri was adjudicated as Man of The Match for his outstanding 4-wicket haul. Pathan Javeed took Catch of the Match award for his exceptional effort in the field.

Majid Pandit, the captain of Media Titans, praised his team's all-around effort, saying, "This was a complete team performance. I am glad that our players are highly motivated under the guidance of seniors especially Head Coach Sheikh Irfan and delivering match winning performances individually as well as collectively."

We are hopeful of maintaining this rhythm of playing good positive cricket, he added.
