Jatin Kishore assumes charge as DC Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, JANUARY 31: In a formal handover ceremony held today in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore took the charge as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, succeeding Shyambir.

Jatin Kishore, who formerly served as the Additional Secretary in the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat holding additional charge of the post of Director Information took the charge in presence of several senior officers of the district administration.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad, GM DIC, Bilal Mukhtar and Chief Planning Officer, Shahnawaz Ahmad Khan were present on the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner was accorded a warm welcome by the officers present. The DC expressed his gratitude to the gathering of officers and officials present on the occasion.

Ganderbal, Jan 26: Jammu and Kashmir United Movement President and former MLA Ganderbal, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, unfurled the National Flag on the eve of the 76th Republic Day in a ceremony attended by CRPF jawans, J&K Police personnel, and locals. On the occasion, he distributed sweets among the participants, fostering a spirit of unity and celebration.

Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Jabbar lauded the Indian Constitution, describing it as unparalleled and a beacon of freedom not seen in any other part of the world. He expressed his gratitude to the security forces for their unwavering efforts in safeguarding the nation's borders, wealth, and the well-being of its citizens. CUKashmir Celebrates 76th Republic Day with zeal, VC unfurls Tricolor
Ganderbal, Jan 26: Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) marked the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and fervor at its Tulmulla Campus. Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, unfurled the Tricolor and took the salute of the marching contingent of security guards, embodying the spirit of national pride and unity.
The event witnessed the presence of Deans of Schools, Heads and Coordinators of Departments, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Finance Officer, faculty members, senior administrative officials, research scholars, and students. For those unable to attend due to ongoing winter vacations, the celebration was live-streamed, ensuring widespread participation across the university community.
In his address, Prof. Ravinder Nath extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders of the university. He reflected on the profound significance of Republic Day, stating, “This day commemorates the historic moment when the Constitution of India came into effect, transforming our nation into a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. It is a day to celebrate our pride, reflect on our journey, and renew our commitment to the values enshrined in our Constitution.”
Highlighting the role of the Constitution as the cornerstone of democracy, Prof. Nath emphasized the responsibility of citizens and institutions in nation-building. He remarked, “The principles of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution must guide us as individuals and as an academic institution committed to the pursuit of knowledge and societal progress.”
He underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping a vibrant democracy, stating, “The Central University of Kashmir is dedicated to nurturing the future of the nation. Education is the bedrock of a progressive society, and it is our collective duty to uphold and propagate constitutional ideals through academic excellence, critical thinking, and inclusive education. Our diverse and talented university community stands as a microcosm of India’s rich heritage and pluralism. Together, let us strive to make our campus a beacon of innovation, ethical leadership, and cultural harmony.”
Prof. Nath also shared the university’s key academic milestones and initiatives, including: NEP-2020 Implementation: Introduction of multidisciplinary UG and PG programs, flexible degree structures, and credit transfer through SWAYAM.
Curriculum & Research Reforms: Development of interdisciplinary curricula, mandatory research internships at UG/PG levels, and a strong focus on dissertations.
Research & Innovation Support: Establishment of a Research Ethics Committee, introduction of Research and Corpus Funds to support faculty and student research, and implementation of anti-plagiarism mechanisms. Faculty members have also been encouraged to submit proposals to funding agencies, resulting in significant project submissions.
The Vice Chancellor called upon the university community to lead in creating knowledge and fostering dialogue for sustainable and equitable development. “Our shared commitment to these goals will not only strengthen our institution but also contribute to the greater cause of nation-building,” he concluded.
