The National Human Rights Organization, under the guidance of DG M. I. Zarger Patnavi and National General Secretary Parvaiz Malik, marked National Human Rights Day on 10th December with ceremonies honoring journalists and officials for their exceptional contributions to society.
Although the primary event was held at the Srinagar office, many awardees were unable to attend due to heavy workloads. To accommodate them, a special ceremony was organized at Royal Park, Handwara, where awards were presented to deserving individuals for their outstanding work in journalism and public service.

Updated IED defused on Srinagar-Baramulla Highway; road now open
Baramulla, Dec 09 (JKNS): An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted along the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway at Palpora Palhallan in the Pattan area of Baramulla District has been detected and defused by joint forces. The road is now open for traffic.
A top police officer told the news agency JKNS that traffic movement on the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway was temporarily suspended on Monday after security forces discovered a suspicious object near Palhallan Pattan.
He said the traffic movement on the highway was suspended after the discovery, while now that it has been successfully defused by joint security forces, the road has been reopened.
Earlier, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called to investigate and ensure safety in the area, while now the road has been cleared—(JKNS)
