Under the Sewa Parv initiative, the Municipal Committee Hanwara engage citizens to promote cleanliness, safeguard water resources, and preserve greenery. On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, a team from J&K Disaster Management Kupwara headed by Tehsildar Villgam, Dr. Kasir Bashir, visited Punzwaa Villgam and provided interim monetary relief to five fire-affected families. 52-year-old man, Jamal-u-din Jungle, son of Noor Din Jungle, sustained multiple injuries after being attacked by a wild bear in Monabal while tending his sheep. BJP senior leader Ravinder Raina lauded the efforts of the construction agencies, LG administration, elected representatives of Jk and the Central Government for restoring the Srinagar Jammu National Highway, terming it a commendable job. He, however, observed that had the JKUT Government initiated the struggle a few days earlier, the unfortunate situation of apple-laden trucks stranded for weeks on the highway could have been avoided. Expressing hope, Raina said the timely restoration will now benefit growers and traders .
