The life and teachings of Nund Rishi (1377–1438), also known as Sheikh-ul-Alam and Alamdar-e-Kashmir, were remembered today in a solemn and heartfelt tribute to honor his legacy. Born as Noor-ud-Din Noorani, Nund Rishi remains one of the most revered Sufi saints, mystics, poets, and Islamic preachers in Kashmir's history.

Nund Rishi is celebrated as the founder of the Rishi order—a Sufi tradition deeply rooted in the spiritual and cultural heritage of Kashmir. Through his profound teachings, poetry, and devotion, he played a pivotal role in promoting peace, tolerance, and unity among diverse communities.
