Kulgam, December 28: In a commendable rescue operation, Kulgam Police, led by SHO Devsar Inspector Rishi Kumar under the guidance of SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS, joined hands with the officials of the R&B Department Devsar to rescue nomadic families stranded in the upper reaches of Banimulla due to heavy snowfall.
The families, residing in makeshift tents, faced severe hardships as their shelters were completely damaged by the harsh weather conditions. Responding swiftly to the crisis, the team braved adverse conditions to reach the affected area and ensure the safety of the stranded families.
Expressing their gratitude, the nomadic families highly appreciated the efforts of SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal and SHO Devsar Inspector Rishi Kumar for their prompt action and humanitarian approach during this challenging time.
Kulgam Police Rescue Heart Attack Victim Amid Heavy Snowfall

Devsar, Kulgam Dec 27: In an exemplary act of service, Devsar Police, led by Station House Officer Devsar Mr. Rishi Kumar, on the directions of SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS, successfully rescued a heart attack victim from the snowbound village of Adigam.
Devsar police received an urgent phone call informing them that Nawaz Ahmad Mallah, a 30-year-old shopkeeper and resident of Adigam, had suffered a heart attack and required immediate medical attention. However, the road to the village was completely blocked due to heavy snowfall, making access impossible through conventional means.
Acting swiftly, SHO Devsar Reshi Kumar and his team mobilized a rescue operation. Accompanied by a JCB machine, they cleared the snow-covered road and reached the remote village despite challenging weather conditions. The victim was promptly transported to the hospital, ensuring that his life was saved.

Kund (Kulgam) Dec 24: Three residential houses were gutted in a fire incident at Nowbugh area of Kund belt in south kashmiri's kulgam district on Tuesday morning, sources said.
Sources said that fire broke out in a residential houses of belonging to Mohd Rafiq Naikoo, Mohd Akram Naikoo, Showkat Ahmad Sheikh and Gull mohd sheikh of Nowbugh Kund.
“Soon after fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was contained, however not before the blaze had razed the structure to ashes”, sources said.
The official said three persons also injured during the incident, while cause of fire being ascertained.

Kilam, Kulgam Dec. 22: Rural Development Department (RDD) Devsar, in collaboration with the local residents of Kilam, initiated a major cleanliness drive in the area. The initiative was launched on the recommendations of MLA Devsar Feroz Ahmad Shah and overseen by BDO Devsar, Arif Ayaz.
The drive is part of the "Shaaf Suttra Kilam" campaign, an initiative launched a couple of months ago by the residents of Kilam to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability. Speaking during the launch, officials urged the residents of Block Devsar to register under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at the block level with a monthly registration fee of ₹100.
Emphasizing accountability, officials warned that individuals found dumping garbage along roadsides would face penalties. "It is the responsibility of every individual to keep our environment clean and green, not just for ourselves but for future generations," they said.
The campaign has been praised for fostering a sense of collective responsibility and community engagement in maintaining the region's cleanliness and ecological balance.
