CEO Kupwara organized Capacity Building orientation cm training program in Sogam & Khumeryal Zones
KUPWARA, JUNE 27: Chief Education Officer Kupwara today organized Capacity Building Orientation cm training program of teachers under Inclusive Education Wing of SAMAGRA SHIKSHA J&K at Zone Sogam and Zone Khumriyal.
At BHSS Sogam the program was inaugurated by ZEO Sogam, Mohd Yousf in presence of I/c Principal BHSS Sogam, IE team & more than 120 teacher participants. Principal BHSS Khumeryal, N.A Khan inaugurated the training programme at BHSS Khumeryal in presence of IE team and more than 160 teacher participants.
The program aimed to achieve goals under Inclusive Education and carryout a survey for early identification of CWSN (Children with Special Needs & OOSC) at school level & in respective catchment areas. The objective is identification, enrollment and retention of the children, providing them with academic support and various benefits, aids & appliances, different allowances to achieve the aim of Inclusive Education.
Hereafter, a survey shall be carried out at school level to identify CWSN enrolled & OOSC so that their medical assessment can be conducted for providing them free Aids & Appliances as a support and encourage them to fulfill their dreams for their independent livelihood and thrive for the society as well.
More than 280 teachers were covered from both the Zones during the day long program and were given training & know how regarding the Disabilities & issues related to CWSN.
District Coordinator Inclusive Education Javid Wani thanked the Principals & ZEOs from both the Zones, IE team, teacher participants, ZNOs IE for their full support, cooperation and full time presence showing their concern for upliftment and betterment of this special section and part and parcel of our society.

DC Kupwara chairs Revenue meeting

KUPWARA, June 27: : To review the functioning of the Revenue Department and to ensure efficient and prompt public service delivery in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan(IAS)Thursday chaired a meeting of the officers of Revenue Department in the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex, here.

The meeting held threadbare deliberations on various Revenue related matters including Tehsil wise pendency in extract of Jummabandies, Fard, Extract of Aks Masavi/Lattha beyond PSGA, attestation of mutations, copy of mutations, measurement and demarcation of land , SVAMITVA/ preparation of digitization and online survey of recorded Abadi Deh.

At the outset, ACR Kupwara, Mumtaz Ahmad Pir apprised the chair through a detailed PowerPoint presentation regarding functioning of the revenue department and the performance of the officers and field functionaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said updation of Revenue record is a core work of Revenue department and is also a basic requirement of every household for which coordinated teamwork is key to achieve set targets in a time-bound manner.

She said the performance of Revenue Officers will be strictly monitored on the parameters of updation of Revenue records and purification of records preceding digitization.

She asked the Revenue Officers to further improve the public service delivery system at their respective Tehsil Offices, Nyabats and Patwar halqas.

DC directed all the Tehsildars to ensure quality disposal of all online Grievances.

While reviewing the status of Tehsil wise pendency in extract of Jummabandies, DC gave a deadline of 15 days to officers to submit the certificates of quality check and finish the exercise. DC further directed the officers that jumabandies which are not read out in public domain shall be read during this period.

Sopore Police observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Sopore, 26 June 2024:

Sopore Police observed International Day against Drug Abuse in Police District Sopore with a series of awareness initiatives to educate the community about the dangers of drug abuse.

The event featured an awareness rally from District Police Lines Sopore to Chankhan, with participation from students of various local schools. Additionally, a cross-country run was organized from Railway crossing to Seer crossing.

A painting and speech competition was also held at DPL Sopore, where participants shared their experiences and insights on the destructive impact of narcotics.

SP Sopore, Smt. Divya D-IPS, addressed the gathering, advising parents and teachers to monitor their children's behavior closely and avoid imposing psychological pressures that might lead them toward drug use. She encouraged the youth to engage in sports and excel academically to channel their energy positively. She also emphasized the devastating effects of drug involvement on young careers and highlighted the roles of parents, stakeholders, and religious leaders in combating drug abuse.

“International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” observed in Kupwara district

Kupwara, June 26: To commemorate the “international day against drug abuse & illicit trafficking”, the District Administration on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan(IAS) organized several events including awareness campaigns, Rallies, cross country Run, Painting and quiz competitions across the district to educate people about the dangers of drug abuse and promote healthy lifestyles.

A mega awareness programme “victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of drug Menace” was organized by District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with Education department Kupwara at Government Boys higher secondary School Kupwara which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS). At the outset of the event, the Deputy Commissioner administered the “SAY NO TO DRUGS, YES TO LIFE” pledge to the participants.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that drug abuse and illicit trafficking is a major issue which indeed is posing significant threats to societal well-being, breaking down the social fabric, leading to physical and mental health issues, straining the relationships with family and friends, leading to isolation and loneliness. It is also resulting in financial problems, unemployment, and legal issues.

DC said that addressing drug abuse and illicit trafficking requires a multifaceted approach including prevention, treatment, law enforcement and social support systems.

DC further said that the District administration has taken comprehensive steps in tackling the issue of drug abuse and launched several initiatives in order to bring back and support the victims so that they can live a normal life again.

She said that two Drug de-addiction centers are functioning at Kupwara and Handwara and a third one is being established at Tangdar.

Baramulla, June 26: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa,chaired the proceedings of Block Divas at Higher Secondary School Goom Ahmadpora. The event brought together officers from all line departments, former Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), and members of the public from the area. The Block Divas served as a platform to address community grievances and assess local development needs.

KUPWARA, JUNE 24: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan today visited Lolab sub division of district Kupwara during which she laid foundation stone of several road projects.
At Surigam, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairperson DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir jointly laid foundation stone of 5.5 km Surigam road construction project under NABARD involving a cost of Rs.428.45 lakh. The road project includes 4 links connecting different habitations of block Wavoora namely Surigam Galwan Mohallah, Nad Surigam, JNV to Aoloochi Mohallah and undderpati Bajjard Mohallah. It was informed that the road project when completed shall benefit around 1550 souls living in the area. Later, both the dignitaries visited Khurhama area and laid foundation stone of Gratnard Malik Mohallah road construction project. The road involving 1.8 km length is being constructed under UT Sector at a cost of Rs.49 lakh.
SDM Lolab, Javid Naseem; Executive Engineer R&B Division Sogam Lolab, Hilal Abbasi, Tehsildar Sogam, besides, officials from different departments and people in large number were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the people for getting new road projects. She impressed upon the concerned officers for speedy ex*****on of the roads so that the people are benefitted.

Baramulla, June 24: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla, Safeena Beigh today chaired a preliminary meeting of all DDC Members and Officers at Dak Bungalow here to take a first-hand appraisal of department wise progress of developmental works under District Capex and Area Development Fund.

The meeting was attended by all the members of DDC, District Development Commisioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, the Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Qamar Sajad, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Shabir Ahmad Hakak, District Information Officer Baramulla, Iftikhar Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Ibad-ur-Rahman, officers from R&B, RDD, PDD and other departments.

At the outset, the ADDC, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the DDC, extended a warm welcome to the chairperson and all the members of the DDC to the general meeting.

The ACD, provided a detailed presentation on the physical and financial progress achieved in developmental works being executed under different sectors in the district during the year 2023-24.

During the meeting, it was informed that for the financial year 2023-24 out of 2,023 works allocated under the Area Development Fund (ADF) with a budget of Rs. 110.16 crore, 2,006 works were tendered and 1,501 were physically completed, with an expenditure realisation of Rs. 64.33 crore.

The proposed plan for the financial year 2024-25 was also discussed during the meeting, with fund allocations under the area development fund set at Rs. 8.6 Crores for the District Development Council (DDC), Rs. 5.64 Crores for the Block Development Council (BDC), and Rs. 81.22 Crores for the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI).

Additionally, the DDC discussed developmental initiatives to be implemented for the current year, including the installation of solar street lights in all 401 panchayats of the district, beautification of Jhelum river front, the construction of a DDC complex, the establishment of a training and resource center, procurement of spare transformers, water pipes, street lights, and other essential infrastructure.

Speaking during the meeting the chairperson, DDC stressed on all the officers and the members of the DDC to ensure completion of targets and utilization of 100% funds to avoid any fund lapse and exhorted upon all the officers to maintain transparency and accountability in the ex*****on of works.

Safeena Beigh further emphasized on the officers to incorporate the beautification of the Jhelum riverfront in Baramulla town in the current development plan, underscoring it as a crucial initiative to enhance the area's aesthetic appeal and recreational potential.

During the meeting, The DC directed the officers to prevent procedural delays and to implement an efficient tendering process, ensuring that the allocated funds for the project are utilized effectively with getting lapsed.

*Kupwara jail blast:- Injured inmate from Sopore succumbs*

Srinagar, June 24 (KS):- An inmate from Sopore who was injured during a gas cylinder blast in Kupwara sub jail has succumbed to injuries.

A top official told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Scroll that on 19 June, at least nine inmates were injured in the Kupwara jail explosion.

He said that all injured were shifted to hospital and among them one succumbed to injuries on Monday morning.

He has been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah son of Sujah Ahmad resident of Dangerpora Sopore who according to police was involved in case FIR NO ...04/2024 PS Tarzoo u/s 8/21,22,29 NDPS act.

A 92 bn CRPF breathed life into a man having a cardiac arrest by performing timely cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), an official from the department said.

According to CRPF A Langate Udipora resident Athar Nazir Lone who was coming from Srinagar to Handwara of Kupwara District suffered cardiac arrest near 92bn Crpf Camp Wadoora Saturday afternoon.

He said an alert Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel deployed on the national highway guard duty took him to Camp Where Dr Arshid saved Athar,s life by performing CPR on him.

He also gave Athar first aid medicine by virtue of which he was stabilised.

DC Kupwara reviews preparedness for Supervisor Recruitment Exam

Kupwara, June 22: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS) today presided over a comprehensive meeting at the DC office complex to review the preparedness for the OMR based exam of Supervisor Social Welfare Department, being conducted by JKSSRB on 23-06-2924.

The meeting focused on meticulous review of logistics plans for the examination day and
ensuring a free, fair and seamless examination process.

The Deputy Commissioner issued crucial directives to Magistrates, Observers, centre Superintendents, Principals, invigilators and stakeholder departments, emphasizing the imperative of a transparent and equitable examination environment and upholding of SOPs that facilitate the smooth conduct of the examination.

The DC issued specific directives to various departments, including a ban on mobile phones and electronic devices inside examination centers.

While meticulously reviewing the logistics plans for the examination day, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of proрег lighting, seating arrangements, and bold signage and toilet facilities. The DC called for putting in place foolproof arrangements to avoid any malpractices during the examination.

The PDD department was directed to ensure proper power supply during the examination hours, while the Jal Shakti department was tasked with arranging adequate water supply at all examination centers. The ARTO Kupwara was directed to ensure proper conveyance at proper time for students appearing for exam.

The Information Department was specifically directed to brief the Videographers hired for tomorrow's exam to ensure adherence to established protocols.

Body of man retrieved 5 days after jumping into river Jhelum at Sopore

Sopore: The body of a man, who jumped into river Jhelum at Jamia area of Sopore in Baramulla district on 17th June, was retrieved on Friday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a man identified as Mohammed Amin Ahanger of Batpora Sopore, who jumped in the river Jhelum was retrieved after five days near Khushal Matoo locality.

He said that as soon as he jumped into river Jhelum on Eid day, a rescue operation was launched by SDRF, Police and locals.

The body of Ahanger, who was a driver by profession, was retrieved this afternoon, he added.

The body will be handed over to the family after completing all the legal and medical formalities, official further added—(KNO)

DC Kupwara Chairs NCORD meeting, Emphasizes on intensifying IEC campaign, strengthening intelligence network

Kupwara, June 21: A meeting of District Level Committee of Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) was on Friday held under the Chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS) at Mini-Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex here in order to discuss the comprehensive strategy to counter the menace of drug abuse in Kupwara district.

The Deputy Commissioner meticulously reviewed the implementation of the measures taken and progress achieved to eliminate drug abuse and its peddling.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed appraisal from concerned members of NCORD Committee regarding the present scenario of drug related occurrences, areas of concern, hot spots of drug abuse and its peddling.

On the occasion, the DC stressed upon the Officers of all the line Departments to further intensify IEC activities, connecting communities including religious influencers and civil society members.

The Deputy Commissioner while laying thrust on further intensifying IEC campaign at Schools, Colleges and Health & wellness Centre levels to sensitize students and common masses about ill effects of drugs as well as encouraging healthy activities to discourage drug abuse, asked the Chief Education Officer, Nodal Officer Colleges and CMO Kupwara to organize awareness programs , rallies and capacity building cm counseling sessions on the harmful effects of drug menace in all degree colleges, educational institutions and Health and wellness centres across the district and align these programmes with Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA)/international Day Against Drug abuse and illicit Trafficking on 26 June.

DSWO Kupwara was directed to get the photos and video clips of these programmes uploaded on the portal.
