N H M J K Demands Job security Regularisation

*NHM Employees hold sit-in protest at Pulwama* Srinagar, Oct 25: On the call of All India NHM Union, National Health Mission employees observed day-long strike and held a protest demonstration at Pulwama on Thursday. The employees are seeking redressal of their long pending demands including regularisation of services. Scores of employees assembled at District Hospital Pulwama and raised slogans in favour of their demands. The employees marched holding placards demanding regularisation of services, implementation of Supreme Court guidelines on equal pay for equal work and accord of pending commitments made to the employees by Govt of J&K in January 2018. Apart from regularisation the employees have been demanding leaves, EPF, NPS etc and other social security benefits at par with their regular colleagues. “Most of the commitments made to the employees by the then Minister for Health & Medical Education on 22 January, 2018 remain unfulfilled till date, which compels us to endorse the strike call”, said the Altaf Ahmad, vice president of the Association. The employees urged the authorities to initiate steps to redress the grievances of the employees with regard to job security, financial security and social security, “so that we are able to put in our best and concerted efforts for achievement of objective of the Mission”. The employees urged the government to fulfil all their demands within shortest possible time or face a state wide agitation in coming weeks.
