U Tirot Sing Syiem was born in the year 1802, and died in the year 1835, was one of the chiefs of the Khasi people in the early 19th century.

He drew his lineage from the Syiemlieh clan. He was the Syiem of Nongkhlaw, part of the Khasi Hills.

He is well-known for his fight against David Scott, the British Officer of the East India Company.

Though, Tirot Sing was defeated and captured, he refused to reign as a vassal.

He died an independent king.
