సామర్లకోట, ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రములోని తూర్పు గోదావరి జిల్లాకు చెందిన ఒక మండలము. ప్రముఖ రైల్వే జంక్షన్ కూడా. ఈ వూరి అసలు పేరు శ్యామలదేవికోట. రాను రాను ఈ పేరు మారి శ్యామలకోట, సామర్లకోట అయ్యింది. ఒకప్పుడు ఇక్కడ శ్యామలాంబ గుడి వుండేది. ఆ గుడి ఇప్పుడు వుందో లేదో తెలీదు. ఈ వూరు ఇప్పుడు భీమేశ్వరాలయానికి ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది. ఇది పంచారామాలలో ఒకటి. దీనిని కుమార భీముడనే చాళుక్య రాజు నిర్మించాడు. ఇక్కడి శివలి

ంగం అలా పెరిగి పోతుంటే పైన మేకు కొట్టారని చరిత్ర. కందుకూరి వీరేశలింగం గారు వ్రాసిన "రాజశేఖర చరిత్రం" అనే పుస్తకంలొ ఈ వూరి చరిత్ర వుంది.
