Our Story
Sadiya is one of the three sub-divisions of Tinsukia district of the North-eastern Indian state of Assam. It is located at the eastern most part of the state Assam and is the land of rising sun of Assam. It is a place with a mixer of different communities with Assamese as the main community, beyond that their lives communities such as Chutiyas, Kacharis, Misings, Deories, Nepalies, Khamties etc. Sadiya stands on a grassy plain, nearly surrounded by forested Himalaya Mountains, on one side and is surrounded by rivers from all the other three sides. Sadiya is considered by some people as the widest river point in the world at the point of creation of mighty river Brahmaputra with the joining of three rivers namely—Dihong River (Tsangpo in Tibet, Siang in Arunachal Pradesh which is the main stream of the river Brahmaputra), Dibang River, and Lohit River. Since it is surrounded by rivers from three sides, it is totally separated from the other parts of Assam.
