ਦਸਵੇਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਕਿਰਪਾਨ ਮਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ।
ਇਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਮਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਦੇ ਨਵਾਬ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਮਹਿਮਾਦ ਖਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ
*ਸ਼ੇਰ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਖਾਨ*, ਮਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਰਿਆਸਤ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਬ (ਮੁਖੀ) ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਹਿੰਦ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਜਾਂ ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਚ ਫੌਜੀ ਅਹੁਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਨਵਾਬ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਫਤਹਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਰਹਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ 9 ਅਤੇ 7 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਨ। . ਸ਼ੇਰ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਖਾਨ ਇਕਲੌਤਾ ਦਰਬਾਰੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਹ ਜ਼ੁਰਮਾਨਾ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਦਿਆਂ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਖਾਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ 'ਹਾਉ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਰਾ' ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਿਆ, ਪਰ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਯਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਨਵਾਬ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਕਿਰਪਾਨ (ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੇ ਲੇਖ ਵਜੋਂ ਪਹਿਨਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਥਿਆਰ) ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਧਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈਂਡਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ 108 ਧਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਿੰਦੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਮਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਦੀ ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਬੇਗਮ- ਮੁਨਵਰ-ਉਲ-ਨਿਸਾ ਉਮਰ 104 (ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਟੋਂਕ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਸੀ) ਮਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਦੇ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਮੰਜ਼ਿਲ ਪੈਲੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

Historical Kirpan of Tenth Sikh Master - Guru Gobind Singh Ji with the Royal Family of Malerkotla,
This sword was gifted by Guru Sahib to the Nawab Sher Mahumahd Khan of Malerkotla
*SHER MUHAMMAD KHAN*, was the Nawab (Chief) of Malerkotla State and held a high military position in the sarkar or division of Sirhind Durbar. He was present in the court at Sirhind when Nawab Wazir Khan, pronounced death sentence for Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh Ji, the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, who were just 9 and 7 years of age at that time, respectively. Sher Muhammad Khan was the only Durbari, who pleaded against the death sentence on the ground that they should not get such a harsh penalty and could not in any case be held responsible for the actions of their father. He walked out of the Durbar not agreeing to the penalty. This particular incident is known as 'Haw Da Nawra'.

Though they couldn't be saved, but remembering his great effort of standing against unrighteous and cruel action, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji sent an historical Kirpan (a weapon worn as an article of faith by Sikhs) to the Nawab Sahib. Since then, Malerkotla has been immortalized in Sikh history.

This sword have sharp edge on one side and have 108 ridged points on another side with a beutiful handle.

Presently, The last begum of Malerkotla - Munwar - Ul - Nisa aged 104 (she previously belonged to the Tonk Royal family) is residing in Mubarak Manzil Palace of Malerkotla and taking care of this sword with her true devotion.
