*Training Program for Investigating Officers Held in Rajouri*

Training program for Investigating Officers (IOs) of District Rajouri was organized at the conference hall of District Police Lines (DPL) Rajouri. The program focused on the implementation and usage of the *E-SAKSHAY Mobile Application* during investigation.

The event was presided over by Sh. Tejinder Singh IPS DIG RP Range and Sh. Gaurav Sikarwar IPS SSP Rajouri who also addressed the participants on the importance of adopting technological advancements in modern policing. They emphasized the role of
*E-SAKSHAY* in ensuring transparency, accountability, and expedited investigations.

A total of 40 Investigating Officers from the district attended the Training Program. A Master Trainer provided hands-on training, equipping the officers with practical knowledge to operate the application effectively.

The initiative is part of a broader commitment to improving police services and fostering digital integration in law enforcement activities.

RAJOURI, JANUARY 01: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of border areas to inspect ongoing development works and address public grievances.

During the visit, he reviewed the progress of critical infrastructure projects and interacted with local stakeholders to ensure effective services delivery.

The DC inspected the development work at recently upgraded Government Middle School at LoC village Basali, started last month on his intervention. He emphasized the need for timely completion of the project to provide a better learning environment to the students in this remote area.

Continuing the visit, the DC reviewed the electricity supply to Veer Bardeshwar Mandir, a prominent religious and tourist site in the district. He directed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the Temple, recognizing its significance for devotees and visitors.

In Laam area, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with Lumberdars and Chowkidars to understand the ground realities and assess the implementation of government schemes. He also held a grievance redressal camp and addressed the issues raised by the locals.

The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Nowshera, Babu Ram Tandon; Tehsildar Nowshera and other district and sectoral officers. The visit highlighted the district administration’s commitment to inclusive development and proactive resolution of public issues, especially in border areas.

The second edition of the Martyrs Premier League (MPL) began today with great enthusiasm at Pritam Stadium, Poonch. The tournament was inaugurated by ASP Poonch, Mohan Sharma, and Lt Col Amrit, in the esteemed presence of Syed Zaki Haider, Chairman of the ACT Trust. With the slogan “Only a Loser Can Be a Drug User,” the tournament aims to promote a drug-free society while paying tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. A total of 32 teams are competing in this spirited event. This initiative is being organized under the overall supervision of Advocate Zeshan Syed, Chairman of the Haq Insaaf Council – Movement for Right and Justice.This tournament holds a special significance as it is dedicated to remembering and paying homage to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. A total of 32 teams from various regions are participating, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship.
The MPL 2 tournament is a collaborative effort by the team Haq Insaaf Council (Poonch Chapter), in association with the Civil Administration, Police Department, and the 93 Infantry Brigade of the Indian Army. This initiative not only honors the sacrifices of the martyrs but also fosters communal harmony and encourages youth participation in sports as a constructive alternative to negative influences.The opening match set the tone for an exciting series of games that promise to unite and inspire the community.
The tournament reflects the collective efforts of the Indian Army (12 Bihar Regiment and 8th Field Regiment), District Police Poonch, and the District Administration, who have left no stone unturned to ensure its success.
MPL 2 is more than a sports event; it is a tribute to the martyrs, a platform for youth engagement, and a campaign against drug abuse. The organizers express their heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders and participants for their support in making this initiative a beacon of hope and unity.

*Javed Rana reviews development projects in Rajouri; announces key initiatives for water, tribal welfare*

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 28: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today chaired a review meeting with officers from all departments held at Rajouri to assess progress on development projects and tribal welfare schemes being implemented in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, briefed the meeting regarding the status of various developmental initiatives being implemented under central and UT sponsored welfare schemes.

The meeting covered a wide range of issues including Rural Development, Power, Public Works, PMGSY, Jal Jeevan Mission, Irrigation and Flood Control, upgradation of education and health infrastructure, Cluster Tribal Model Villages, forestry and wildlife, tribal welfare schemes, industries and other social sector programs.

The Minister stressed the importance of ensuring quality in developmental works, improving work culture while upholding high standards of workmanship.

He asked the Deputy Commissioner to identify state land for creating a land bank to facilitate plantations under the Forest Department, particularly as a compensatory measure for projects in forested areas.

*Javed Rana instructed for installation of handpumps on community basis instead of individual setups. He announced provision of two water tankers per constituency in Rajouri district to address water scarcity in deficit villages.*

*The Minister directed for preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) worth Rs 10 crore per constituency for soil conservation under convergence with MGNREGA, IWMP, and Irrigation and Fisheries Department to enhance water recharge and raise the water table. He emphasised incorporating projects under the "Dharti Aabha" initiative to enhance education infrastructure and road connectivity.*

Javed Rana highlighted that all villages in Rajouri have been included in tribal welfare schemes, ensuring extensive benefits for the tribal population.

MLAs from Rajouri, Budhal, Kalakote, and Thanamandi constituencies besides DDC Chairperson Adv Naseem Liaquat, raised key issues pertaining to their regions.

The Minister assured them of timely resolution of their issues and concerns while reiterating government’s commitment towards meeting public aspirations and prioritising the needs of public representatives.

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a comprehensive meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the OMR-based written examination for the post of Constable (Photographer) in the Home Department, scheduled to be conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on December 22, 2024.

The meeting emphasized strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the JKSSB to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all stakeholders to work in coordination to ensure a fair and hassle-free examination process, prioritizing the needs and convenience of the candidates.

Among the key decisions, the ARTO was directed to ensure the availability of adequate transport facilities, especially on routes with a high concentration of candidates.

The task of installation of signage at the centers was entrusted to Centre superintendents & Executive Officer municipality, while the Traffic Department was asked to keep routes leading to the 16 examination centers free from congestion on the examination day.

Furthermore, Examination Observers were directed to visit respective centers a day before the examination to verify and ensure the readiness of arrangements. The Executive Engineer PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted supply of Electricity during the examination.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa; ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan, besides Observers, Centre Observers, Duty Magistrates and other district and sectoral officers.

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 20: The long-awaited hospital building in Thanamandi has finally been handed over to the Health Department following decisive intervention by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma. The development has been widely appreciated by the general public, as the Community Health Centre (CHC) has now been shifted to the new building and is fully functional.

The project, which had been lingering for years due to various delays, received a fresh impetus last month when the DC, during an inspection, issued firm directions to the executing agency to complete the pending electrical works within 15 days. True to his commitment to public welfare, the Deputy Commissioner personally visited the site to assess progress and ensure timely completion of the work.

The new facility comes as a major relief for the people of Thanamandi, who previously had to access healthcare services in a congested space that lacked adequate infrastructure. The commissioning of the new building has significantly improved the healthcare environment, providing better facilities for both patients and medical staff.

*Notorious Fraudster Arrested for Duping Innocent Citizens in ATM Fraud Cases*

In a major breakthrough, Police Station Thanamandi has arrested a notorious fraudster, Javed Iqbal Tass, S/o Mohd Ashraf, a resident of Bhanghai, Tehsil Thanamandi, District Rajouri, for his involvement in multiple cases of ATM fraud. The accused has been cheating innocent people by swapping their ATM cards under the pretext of helping them withdraw money.

In this regard two cases have been registered at Police Station Thanamandi, Rajouri under FIR No. 146/2024 U/S 303(2), 318(4) BNS and FIR No. 109/2024 U/S 420/34 IPC.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to his fraudulent activities and a total of 11 ATM cards belonging to various victims have been recovered from his possession, indicating the extent of his criminal acts.

The investigation has also revealed that Javed Iqbal Tass has carried out similar fraudulent activities in other Districts, further highlighting his involvement in a broader pattern of deceit.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover additional victims and cases linked to the accused and further legal action is underway.

District Police Rajouri urges citizens to remain vigilant while using ATM services and to seek assistance only from authorized personnel to avoid falling prey to such fraudulent schemes.

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 19: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma on Thursday chaired a meeting in the DC Office Complex to review the cooperative sector achievements and the implementation of the plan for strengthening the world's largest grain storage plan.

Emphasizing the need for better implementation of cooperative schemes, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of increasing the number of food processing units across the district. He directed departments to work in close coordination, particularly Agriculture, Fisheries, and Sheep Husbandry, to ensure holistic development.

Highlighting the potential for crop-specific processing in different areas, the Deputy Commissioner noted the scope for maize processing in Nowshera, where the functioning of the cooperative society was reviewed.

The Deputy Registrar Cooperative briefed the chair that land has been transferred at Thandapani for grain storage, and similar arrangements in Kalakote and Budhal would be expedited.

Reviewing the functioning of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), DC Sharma emphasized their engagement in tourism activities. He directed that SHGs should be involved as tourist guides and tasked with providing trekking materials and tentage on rent to boost local tourism.

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 18: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today interacted with a delegation of the Beopar Mandal Rajouri to address various issues concerning the development and functioning of Rajouri town.

The meeting, held at the DC office, provided a platform to the traders to share their concerns and suggestions for improving the civic and business environment in the town.

The delegation, led by President, Rajesh Gupta (Bittu Shah) & senior members of the Beopar Mandal, raised several key issues. The demanded including adequate Power supply, creation of parking spaces and other matters of public importance.

The issue of License Registration of shops with Municipal Council was also discussed in the meeting .

DC Abhishek Sharma gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured prompt action on the issues raised.

Responding to the demands, he said the issues related to power and water supply would be taken up with the Power Development Department (PDD) and Jal Shakti Departments for a prompt action.

The DC further informed that the administration is working on proposals to develop additional parking spaces in key locations within the town. He also emphasized the importance of balancing commercial activities with urban planning to ease traffic congestion.

Regarding the registration of shops, he said the administration would review the process to ensure fairness and transparency. He said awareness sessions for shopkeepers will be held about the registration requirements.

*BSL-3 Mobile Lab, Expert team deployed to investigate cause of deaths in Badhaal Village*

*DC visits Kotranka to assess ground situation*

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 18: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today visited Kotranka to assess the ground situation in Badhaal village, where seven people, including six children below 14 year age lost their lives due to an unknown illness.

In response to the incident, a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) Mobile Laboratory has been dispatched to Rajouri. Additionally, a central team of experts has been constituted to assist the Union Territory administration in investigating the cases and deaths in the village.

The central team consists of Dr. Raghavendra A Honnakamble, Assistant Director, NCDC, Dr. Kapil Goel, A.P, Epidemiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor (Pediatrics), PGIMER, Chandigarh and An expert from ICMR (to be nominated by the institute).

The BSL-3 Mobile Laboratory is equipped to handle outbreaks of highly infectious pathogens. It plays a crucial role in early detection, rapid investigation, and the timely containment of diseases, ensuring the safety of the population during such health emergencies.

During his visit, DC Abhishek Sharma interacted with the team of experts, providing them with the necessary assistance and resources to ensure they could work comfortably and efficiently. He assured the team of full administrative support to facilitate their investigation and help identify the cause of the unknown illness.

*“The administration is committed to ensuring a thorough investigation and providing immediate medical aid to prevent further loss of lives,” he said.*

The Deputy Commissioner directed health officials to intensify surveillance in the affected area and adjoining villages while providing regular updates to the district administration and central team.
