In a significant event held at Gambhir Mughlan area of Manjakote in Rajouri district, DIG Rajouri Poonch range, Tejinder Singh,IPS accompanied by SSP Rajouri, Randeep Kumar engaged with local public to address pressing concerns and promote community well-being.

The meeting was attended by elders and other civil society members of this area with SDPO Manjakote and SHO Manjakote were also present there.

Speaking during this PCPG meeting, the participating locals raised many key issues including a special SPO recruitment, establishment of a crime post in Gambhir Mughlan to enhance security and public policing, infrastructure development in local Government offices like Niyabit, PHC, schools.

Besides locals also called for a new road construction project from Gambhir to Shahdra Sharif with stretch from Hatta Seri to DKG via Naiza Peer,
building a Niabat office to facilitate administrative tasks and
Dak Bungalow renovation work alongwith appointment of a doctor at PHC Gambhir Mughlan to improve healthcare services.

DIG RP range, Tejinder Singh while speaking during the event emphasized the importance of peace and stability and said that sharing information to maintain peace and stability in the area is pivotal while he also underlined joint fight against drugs saying that collaborative efforts to combat drug abuse are need of hour.

DIG also called for vigilance against fake employment and warned people not to fall prey in hands of people who lure youth for fake employment scams, particularly in SF/CAPF and police.

He also informed the masses about action gainst false complaints and said that strict action against those lodging false complaints will be taken.

SSP Rajouri Randeep Kumar also interacted with locals during this event and reiterated the commitment of police towards maintenance of peace and order.

This public meeting demonstrated the administration's commitment to engaging with the community and addressing their concerns.

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 12: Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Khajuria, conducted an inspection of the district’s drug de-addiction centre to review its functioning and assess ongoing support mechanisms available for individuals battling substance abuse.

During the visit, ADC Rajouri emphasized the importance of expanding the centre’s outreach to ensure that a greater number of individuals in need of support are able to access treatment. He directed the centre's manager to take immediate steps to increase the number of clients and patients receiving care at the facility.

ADC also called for a comprehensive awareness campaign to inform the community about the resources available at the centre. "It is crucial that we not only provide high-quality care to those already seeking help but also create awareness within the community to reach those who may still be struggling in silence," he remarked.

Furthermore, he reviewed the current capacities; challenges faced by the centre, and discussed possible strategies for strengthening support and awareness initiatives in collaboration with local communities.

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 12: In a concerted effort to streamline the developmental landscape and address inter-departmental challenges, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Dak Bungalow Rajouri. The meeting was focused on public welfare schemes, infrastructure projects, and resolving land issues that have slowed the progress of key initiatives.

In his remarks, the DC emphasized the importance of addressing land-related challenges that are obstructing the advancement of developmental schemes across the district. He urged concerned departments to expedite resolutions to ensure project timelines remain on track.

Among key decisions, the DC directed officials to initiate the revision of panchayat electoral rolls. Special camps will be organized on Saturday and Sunday to facilitate this process, enhancing the accuracy and inclusivity of voter lists.

The DC also reviewed the status of various schemes under the Rural Development Department (RDD), stressing the importance of timely payments, physical verification of MGNREGA works, and thorough social audits. He further emphasized the completion of PMAY houses to support the region’s housing goals.

To ensure public access to panchayat services, the DC directed to issue a roster, detailing the schedule during which Village Level Workers (VLWs) and Gram Rozgar Sewaks (GRSs) will be available at panchayat offices.

Reviewing infrastructural projects, the DC examined the progress of road construction under the PMGSY, BRO, and PWD departments, underscoring the need for high-quality bitumen (BT) work to enhance durability and usability. Additionally, the DC directed that CCTV cameras be installed at the Baila Bus Stand, with dedicated parking spaces for Thanamandi and Darhal-bound vehicles to optimize space utilization.

Other infrastructural projects discussed included the ongoing construction of the hospital building in Thanamandi, the AYUSH facility in Ujjan, and the 180-bed hospital at GMC Rajouri.

DC also reviewed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district. The Superintending Engineer JJM reported that 34 schemes have been completed, with six more expected by month-end. DC Sharma emphasized prioritizing water supply to religious institutions under JJM.

Additional reviews included the functioning of the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) at Kotranka, status of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), and measures to curb illegal encroachment. Preparations for Janajatiya Gaurav Divas were also evaluated, ensuring all departments are aligned for successful celebrations.

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 12: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, today flagged off a group of farmers on a tour-cum-exposure visit to enhance their knowledge and introduce them to advanced agricultural techniques.
The flag-off ceremony took place at the DC Office Rajouri, where DC Sharma interacted with the farmers and emphasized the importance of embracing innovative farming methods to boost productivity and sustainability.

In his address, the DC encouraged the farmers to make the most of this opportunity, stressing that learning about the latest agricultural practices and technologies is essential for improving crop & fruit yield and ensuring efficient resource management. "This exposure visit will provide you with a first-hand understanding of new techniques that can transform the way you farm. Our goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve greater productivity and profitability," he said.

Chief Horticulture Officer Sushil Singh Angurana shared that a group of 35 farmers drawn from across different tehsils and agricultural backgrounds will be exposed to progressive practices and innovations that can address the unique challenges they face in Rajouri’s diverse agricultural landscape.

Furthermore, he emphasized that this exposure visit will include visits to model farms, advanced horticultural facilities, and agricultural institutions where farmers can observe and interact with experts in various domains, including high-density plantation techniques, integrated pest management, efficient irrigation systems, and organic farming practices.

The initiative, which aligns with the government’s focus on supporting the agricultural sector, was made possible through the efforts of the district administration.

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 10: To reinforce accountability in healthcare services, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma has placed the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Darhal under suspension following a surprise inspection at the Sub-Division Hospital, Darhal.

The inspection conducted to review the winter preparedness revealed that the entire hospital staff—except for one doctor and a technician—was absent from duty, raising concerns about the provision of healthcare services in the region, especially as winter approaches.

Taking immediate action, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the suspension of BMO Darhal, attaching him to the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri. Additionally, the CMO Rajouri has been assigned the additional charge of BMO Darhal until further orders to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services in the area.

Meanwhile, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer to investigate into the instance of gross laxity on the part of the erring officer. The Inquiry Officer has been directed to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and submit the report within three days.

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 9: In preparation for the upcoming Janjatiya Gaurav Divas set on November 15, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, convened a comprehensive review meeting to finalize the arrangements as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma. The meeting focused on ensuring a seamless ex*****on of the celebration, which honors the contributions and rich heritage of tribal communities.

Key directives were issued to ensure the smooth conduct of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas. The Executive Engineer (Ex En) from the Power Development Department (PDD) was instructed to provide an uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the event with necessary arrangements for power backup. In a bid to promote road safety and also to acquaint NCC volunteers about on road working of police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with National Cadet Corps (NCC) volunteers, set up multiple checkpoints in and around Rajouri town.

The joint initiative aimed to provide hands-on experience to NCC volunteers on police procedures for enforcing traffic regulations and raising public awareness about the importance of road safety.

According to police officials, the checkpoints were strategically located to monitor and regulate traffic flow, check vehicle documents, and detect traffic violations.

NCC volunteers were trained on enforcing traffic rules and regulations, managing traffic flow, identifying and reporting violations, interacting with commuters to promote road safety awareness

The drive also sought to educate the public on adhering to speed limits, wearing helmets and seatbelts, avoiding reckless driving and respecting traffic signals.

Rajouri Police officials praised the NCC volunteers' enthusiasm and dedication, stating that such collaborative efforts would continue to ensure public safety and discipline on the roads.

SSP Rajouri Randeep Kumar said that this joint initiative reinforces the J&K Police's commitment to maintaining law and order, while fostering community engagement and road safety in the region.

RAJOURI, OCTOBER 30: Government P.G College, Rajouri, celebrated National Unity Day with a pledge ceremony and an inspiring address by Dr. K.K. Sharma, Principal of the college. The event aimed to reinforce the values of unity, integrity, and brotherhood, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of national integration in India.

The pledge was administered by Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed Qazi, NSS Programme Officer, in the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff, and students, who collectively vowed to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.

Director RDD Jammu Reviews Progress of Rural Development Schemes in Rajouri

RAJOURI, OCTOBER 30: Mohammad Mumtaz Ali, Director of the Rural Development Department (RDD) Jammu, conducted a comprehensive review meeting in Rajouri today, evaluating the performance and progress of various rural development schemes in the district.

The review meeting centered on the implementation of key RDD schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), CD&Pyt, and other initiatives aimed at enhancing rural infrastructure and welfare. Director Ali emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between installment disbursements and the completion of houses under PMAY-G, directed the officers to expedite fund disbursement processes and ensure the timely completion of houses of AWAAS Plus/PMAY-G.

In the context of MGNREGA, the Director evaluated performance Indicators; such as Person Days generation, the Aadhaar-Based Payment System (ABPS), geotagging, and the timely completion and billing of works. He urged officers to prioritize these areas, reduce the backlog, and enhance overall performance in these critical indicators. Underlining the importance of convergence works, he instructed officials to actively initiate and execute these projects as per targets.

The Director issued directives for bottom-performing Block Development Officers (BDOs) to improve their outputs within a week, stressing immediate attention to key areas. He also reviewed the status of works under CD&Pyt, the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), and Common Service Centers (CSCs) co-location projects, urging rapid progress on all fronts.

Addressing the issue of court cases, the Director instructed the Officers to file response/objections promptly in the Hon'ble Courts. He called for a proactive and transparent approach in implementing public-oriented schemes, aiming to meet community expectations and maintain accountability at all levels. Emphasizing close monitoring and timely project delivery, he highlighted the importance of completing works within stipulated timeframes to benefit the targeted beneficiaries.

The meeting concluded with specific targets set for the timely completion of ongoing projects, underscoring a commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery to the public.

The review meeting saw the participation of Vijay Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD); Mohd Nawaz Choudhary, District Panchayat Officer (DPO); Zahir Khan, Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing (EXEN REW); along with Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) of RDD Rajouri.

*Progress of JJM schemes reviewed in Rajouri*

RAJOURI, OCTOBER 30: The status of Water Supply Schemes taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district Rajouri was today reviewed here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma in presence of Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) J&K, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Itoo.

A comprehensive presentation was made by the Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Rajouri, on the status of implementation. It was informed that 298 schemes have been planned for the district out of which the work on 34 schemes is complete. The infrastructure includes dug-wells, bore-wells, Rapid Sand Filtration Plants, Overhead Tanks, and other allied works.

The meeting discussed the timelines for completing the schemes, focusing on developing remaining water sources and installing pumping machinery to operationalize schemes where storages and other civil structures have already been completed. A team of consultants and District-level Project Monitoring Units (DPMUs) also participated, providing technical advice and monitoring progress at both the UT and district levels.

The meeting underscored the importance of addressing any challenges impeding the progress of the projects.

The Deputy Commissioner and Mission Director called for prompt resolution of issues and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders, including contractors, consultants and officials. The meeting further emphasized close monitoring of the ongoing projects to ensure their timely completion.
