રાજકોટના નાઈટ હાફ મેરેથોનની એક ઝલક

રાજકોટમાં આશરે દોઢેક વર્ષ બાદ ફરી એકવાર નાઈટ મેરેથોનનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. મનપા તેમજ પોલીસનાં સહયોગથી શનિવારે રાત્રિના સમયે શહેરના રેસકોર્સ મેદાન ખાતે 21 કિમી હાફ મેરેથોન અને 10 કિમીની ડ્રિમરનનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. શહેરમાં આજે બીજી વખત યુવાધનને સ્વાસ્થ્ય અને હેલધી લાઈફ સ્ટાઈલ પ્રત્યે જાગૃત કરવા, તેમજ ડ્રગ્સનાં સેવનથી દૂર રાખવા ઉપરાંત સમાજીક અને પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણની બાબતો અંગે પ્રોત્સાહીત કરવાના ઉદ્દેશ સાથે રાજકોટમાં નાઇટ હાફ મેરેથોન 2.0નું ભવ્ય આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આ હાફ નાઈટ મેરેથોનમાં ભાગ લેવા માટે સ્પર્ધકો રાજકોટ ઉપરાંત સૌરાષ્ટ્ર, ગુજરાત, હરિયાણા અને કેરળ સહિતના રાજ્યમાંથી પણ ખાસ કેટલાક સ્પર્ધકો ભાગ લેવા માટે આવ્યા હતા.

કેદીઓના અડદિયાની સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં બોલબાલા

શિયાળો આવે એટલે કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિને અડદિયા ખાવાનું મન થઈ જ જાય. બજારમાં જે અડદિયા તમને 500 રૂપિયા કિલો મળે તે સસ્તામાં જોતા હોય અને સાથે જ શુદ્ધ ઘી અને ડ્રાયફ્રુટનો ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવ્યો હોય તો ? તમને એમ થાય કે આવા અડદિયા ક્યાં મળે ? પણ રાજકોટની જેલના કેદીઓ બનાવે છે શુદ્ધ ઘીના ડ્રાયફ્રૂટવાળા અડદિયા. 2 મહિનામાં 1400 કિલો અડદિયા બનાવવામાં આવ્યા છે. બજારમાં મળતા અડદિયાથી 200થી 250 રૂપિયા સસ્તા અડદિયા બનાવવામાં આવે છે. 60થી 70 કેદીઓ શિયાળો આવે એટલે અડદિયા બનાવવામાં શરૂ દે છે. રાજકોટની જેલમાં કેદીઓના અડદિયા સૌરાષ્ટ્રભરના લોકો વખાણે છે, અને ખાય પણ છે.
