*Houthis Claim Attacks on Three Vessels in Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea*

The Houthi rebels claimed to have targeted three vessels on Monday, 15 July. The three vessels, namely BENTLEY I, CHIOS LION, and OLVIA were attacked using booby-trapped boats, ballistic missiles, and drones.

The Houthi spokesperson stated that oil tankers BENTLEY I and CHIOS LION were targeted in the Red Sea. The rebels, in collaboration with the Iraqi Islamic Resistance, claimed to have targeted the crude oil tanker OLVIA in the Mediterranean Sea.

The U.S. Central Command has confirmed the Houthis attack on BENTLEY I and CHIOS LION.

It was reported that BENTLEY I, a Panama-registered vessel owned by an Israeli company and operated by Monaco, was carrying vegetable oil from Russia to China. The U.S. Central Command reported that BENTLEY I was attacked by three surface vessels, two small boats, and one unmanned surface vessel (USV). The vessel was again targeted by an anti-ship ballistic missile.

Another vessel, CHIOS LION, was attacked using an unmanned surface vessel and was reported damaged. CHIOS LION is a Liberian-flagged oil tanker owned by Marshall Island and operated by Greeks.

The U.K. Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported three Red Sea attacks on commercial ships on 15 July. The first, 70 nautical miles southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen, involved two manned boats firing and one unmanned boat colliding with the vessel.

The vessel promptly launched a self-protection procedure that led the attackers to retreat. Later, the vessel reported missile explosions.

The second incident occurred when another vessel was positioned 97 nautical miles northwest of Al Hudaydah. An unmanned surface vessel attacked the vessel and caused minor damage to the ship's port side. The third occurred on 11 July, 15 nautical miles southwest of Al Mukha, Yemen, with two missile explosions near the vessel.

No crewmembers were injured in any incidents, and UKMTO has not confirmed the attacked vessels' identities.

The spokesperson of Houthis stated that these military operations are in retaliation against Israel's airstrikes on Saturday in the city of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
