Fancy a ‘brand new’ 1929 Bentley 4 ½ Blower?

Dubbed ‘Car Zero’ of the ‘Continuation Series’ line, it’s the first brand-new so-called Blower Bentley to roll off the line since 1930, created from over 40,000 hours of meticulous laser scanning of the original 1929 supercharged racer

Moreover, not everything was handled in-house; the chassis was made by Israel Newton & Sons, a 200-year-old marque famous for making boilers for steam engines; the nickel silver radiator surround, and copper and steel fuel tank were crafted by the Vintage Car Radiator Company; Jones Springs handled the leaf spring suspension; Vintage Headlamp Restoration International created the headlights, and Lomax Coachbuilders furnished a new ash body frame, covered in Rexine in the Mulliner shop in Crewe. Talk about sticking to tradition!

The engine, too, courtesy today’s improved material quality, makes 240hp, almost double that of the original model’s 130hp

Sadly, though, only 13 units (including this one) of the Continuation Series will be made, no doubt retailing for an astronomical sum… But oh, if wishes were horses…

Tuthill Porsche, known for its bespoke 911 builds, has brought out the ultimate homage to 1990s GT1 cars, with the Tuthill GT One

Though inspired by track-only machines, what with its lightweight carbon fibre body, the GT One is made specifically for road use, and will be powered by two versions of the same 4-litre six-cylinder engine: a naturally aspirated unit, inspired by Tuthil's 911k engine, making around 500 horses, and a forced-induction mill, true to the '90s GT1 car motif, making over 600 horsepower, with both a 6-speed dual-clutch or a 6-speed manual gearbox on offer

Alas, only 22 units of the Tuthill GT One will be produced, retailing at well over 1.5 million pounds. But then again, what’s a dream car without an eye-watering price tag?

Celebrating 130 years of the first victory (Paris to Rouen, July 22, 1894) for a Daimler-badged engine, Mercedes-AMG showcased the GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport at the Automotive Week in Pebble Beach, California, USA

Since it’s limited to just 13 vehicles, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport is not subject to homologation limits. Hence, its 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V8 makes 680 hp and 730Nm, courtesy a custom exhaust system and… no air restrictor!

The reworked aerodynamic components - front splitter, front wing louvres, side skirts, and the underfloor and rear diffuser - offer a claimed 15 per cent more downforce than the ‘standard’ GT3. Besides, the Formula 1-inspired Drag Reduction System (DRS), operated via a steering-mounted button, means the GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport can hit its 315kmph top end quite comfortably

And since it’s the last Mercedes-AMG GT3 version with a naturally aspirated engine, its legendary status is guaranteed!

Maserati revealed its newest super sports car, the GT2 Stradale, at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California

Based on the Maserati GT2 - created for the brand's return to GT competitions - the GT2 Stradale makes a whopping 640hp (10 hp more than the MC20) from its Nettuno 3-litre twin-turbocharged V6, while weighing 60kg less, for a 0-100kmph time of just 2.8 seconds, and a top speed excess of 330kmph. Speaking of which, the prominent aero kit - front diffuser and sweeping rear wing — create a claimed 500kg of downforce at 280kmph

And, being a road-legal but track-ready machine, the performance focus is clear: form-fitting race seats, cabin surfaces darkened to minimise glare, and everything except the volume k**b, drive-mode k**b, and a button each for drive and reverse locked behind the screen!

Automobili Pininfarina has taken the covers – and roof – off the world’s first coach-built electric hypercar, the Battista Targamerica, delivered to a client

Commissioned at the 2023 Monterey Car Week, and referencing its roofless body style as well as the country it’s based on, the Targamerica features meticulous re-engineering for the roofless profile and unique open-top driving experience

Its design retains signature Automobili Pininfarina elements, like the silver Argento Liquido Gloss colourway, with Iconica Blu Gloss accents pinstripes running along the side and the full width of the aero wing

And finally, this electrified masterpiece, with its four independent electric motors combined with a 120kWh lithium-ion battery, delivers 1900hp of power and 2340Nm of torque, for 0-100kmph in less than two seconds, and a top speed of over 300kmph!

The Delorean DMC-12: The linchpin (sorry Doc Brown) of the ‘Back To The Future’ franchise, also boasted considerable design prowess behind the dramatic wedge styling and gullwing doors, and marvelous engineering involved in its stainless steel composite bodywork

It was built to last, too; a claimed three quarters of the 9,000 or so DeLoreans built are still running, over four decades later! And yet, the pedestrian specs (130 horses and 207 Nm of torque) of its Renault V6 meant it wasn’t a sales success

However, British EV brand Electrogenic has the remedy, which it shall showcase at Salon Privé 2024. This fully reversible conversion makes 220 horses, for a 0-60 miles per hour (0-96kmph) time of under 5 seconds, less than half that of the petrol V6!

Besides the usual complement of tech - virtual dashboard displaying drive modes, battery usage and charge status, and touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay - the Electrogenic DMC-12 also offers V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability, to power a fridge, charge a laptop or even another EV, on the go!

Now if only we could tack on a Flux Capacitor at the back…

As part of its collaboration with Warner Brothers, and celebrating 85 years of Batman, the open-topped two-seat Barchetta exemplifies the motif of ‘Dream Cars, Made Real’, with a distinctive gloss black colourway, along with matte and gloss black wheels

Of course, the B95 Gotham gets Wayne Enterprises logos on the body, chassis plate and door plates, but it’s more than just a looker; generating 1900hp, it can do the 0-100kmph sprint in under two seconds, and boasts adjustable aero screens to deflect air over the open cabin

So… flashy wheels worth the “bad boy billionaire” tag, eh?

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is set to establish a bold new tone of luxury at The Quail, during the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California, for the marque’s confident, youthful client base

Finished in Bespoke Semaphore Yellow – from which this commission takes its name – the unique ‘Marbled Paint Spill’ artwork on the Spectre’s bonnet is inspired by the elegance of coastal California

The motif, created by applying silver lacquer and multiple layers of clearcoat, took over 160 hours to design, develop and produce; the bright yellow colourway extends to the interior, combining Bespoke Lemon Yellow and Citrine Yellow for the seats, Starlight doors, and instrument panel

Even de rigueur elements, like the Bespoke painted wood set is coloured to match the grey material accents, with the Cashmere Grey paint infused with silver mica flakes, for it to sparkle under the sunlight

Japanese precision meets Italian flair!

Forty years after its 1984 Turin Motor Show debut, Honda‘s radical HP-X concept will return to the spotlight at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance during the Monterey Design Week in August 2024, the first time a Japanese vehicle has graced the Pebble Beach stage in over half a century!

Styled and crafted by legendary Italian design house Pininfarina, the wedge-shaped masterpiece will be spotlighted post a complete restoration at Pininfarina’s Italian workshop

Equipped with a mid-mounted 2-litre V6 based on Honda’s F2 racing unit at the time, the HP-X boasted a futuristic canopy replacing conventional doors, with cutting-edge materials like honeycomb panels, carbon fibre, and Kevlar, demonstrating Honda’s commitment to performance and weight reduction

Now, Honda says the original (and legendary!) NSX was a direct descendant of the HP-X; so how about revisiting the archives for the future (read: electric) NSX, eh, Honda?

Hispano Suiza is all set to make a splash!

Celebrating 120 years of its inception, the Spanish marque will make an appearance at ‘The Quail: A Motorsport Gathering’ at the prestigious Monterey Car Week in the USA, to unveil its Carmen Sagrera electric hypercar

And yet, despite its futuristic design, 103kWh battery and 1114hp output figure, the Carmen Sagrera is still at risk of being sidelined. How, you ask? Well, it’ll share the stage with the iconic 1938 Hispano Suiza Xenia Dubonnet, the very model that has inspired the brand’s current range of hypercars

Moreover, this particular example, built on the chassis of the Hispano-Suiza H6B, was designed by aerodynamics expert Jean Andreau and handcrafted by French coachbuilder Jacques Saoutchik, making it one of the most extravagant and aerodynamic cars of its time

Pagani isn’t a carmaker; the marque makes art, and routinely pushes the envelope. So how did it top the aptly named Utopia’s carbon-titanium monocoque chassis, lavish interior, and AMG-derived V-12 and manual 'box combo? By knocking off the roof, of course!

And yet, the Utopia Roadster sees neither a performance drop (852hp/1100Nm) nor weight gain (1280kg dry) over the coupe. The only distinction is a measly 5kmph drop in top speed, which is still a stonking 349kmph!

But of course, with a starting price of € 3.1 million before taxes, all we can imagine doing with this (very fast) moving spectacle is simply gasping in disbelief…

The Corvette name has been quintessentially fast, flashy, and American… but the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 turns it up to eleven!

Its twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 makes a staggering 1064 horses and 1122Nm, for a quarter mile time of less than ten seconds and a top end of over 346 kilometres an hour!

At just over 1700kg, the ’vette has a better power-to-weight ratio than the Bugatti Veyron (despite the smaller engine). And, more importantly, it not only makes 44 more horses than the Tesla Model S Plaid, but is also roughly 450kg lighter… chalk up one for the gas-guzzlers, eh!

Here’s the 2025 Ducati Panigale V4, unveiled just ahead of World Ducati Week in Misano

First off, the sharp new ‘aero-charged’ face, reminiscent of the Desmosedici RR

Next, the Euro5+ compliant 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine now makes more power (216hp @ 13,500rpm) and torque (120.9Nm @ 11,250rpm). The kicker? The track-only Akrapovic exhaust system, that not only helps shed 6.6kg, but also pushes the output to a dizzying 220hp!

The 2025 Panigale V4 is the first flagship Ducati since the iconic 916 with a double-sided swingarm; the marque claims the conventional unit is both 2.7kg lighter and has 37 percent less lateral stiffness, so coming out the corners at full chat is even easier…

And finally, the all-new 6.9-inch TFT and Race eCBS system that monitors the bike’s lean angle, throttle position, rear load, and even automatically applies the rear brake!
