The Orange Octopus Records Our vision is to see a thriving local music scene where artists get more opportunities to grow.

We are a project with a vision to help connect people in the Local Music Scene and create a symbiotic environment with the artists and the music connoisseurs. We plan, in the near future to bring out a platform, where local artists are accessible to the many ardent music lovers, and are committed to finding a sustainable way to allow them to keep creating their content.

This Saturday will be another evening filled with poetry, music, comedy, storytelling and lots of fun at Nagarik Commune, Baner from 7pm onwards! Come down for our open mic and join the celebration of art!

We also have a Beginner's Ukulele Workshop that precedes the open mic (5pm to 6.30pm). If you have always been thinking of picking up an instrument, now is the time!

We're stoked to announce a Beginner Ukulele Workshop + Open Mic this 19th October!

What you’ll experience:
• Take a quick trip through the Ukulele’s Origin Story
• Gain tips on holding, strumming, and picking like a pro
• Learn the essentials of Western Music Theory (don't worry, we'll keep it simple and fun!)
• Master your first ukulele chords and take part in a mini-jam session!
• Walk away with a Workshop Completion E-Certificate

Important Notes: No prior musical experience needed! All you need to bring is your ukulele, something to write on, and a curious mind. Don’t own a ukulele yet? No worries! You can rent one for just ₹99/- (Contact 9011802033 to reserve). Suitable for ages 10 and above, so bring your kiddos or your friends!

About The Instructor: Luv is based in Pune and has been a ukulele enthusiast since 2018! He’s been teaching students across India through online group classes and is certified by the James Hill Ukulele Initiative. After the first was received with tremendous love, we are back with another evening of soulful ghazals. Join us for a captivating night of and as we present another with some of our city's loveliest talent.

🎤 Meet the Performers:

Kartik (Singer)

A trained Hindustani classical vocalist, Kartik is passionate about Ghazals, Thumris, and semi-classical music. While his performances often adapt to the vibe of the stage, singing remains his strongest passion. Whether he's sharing original compositions or telling stories through song, Kartik's voice is sure to captivate and inspire.

Anirban Mishra (Singer)

Anirban fell in love with Ghazals when he first heard Ghulam Ali, 20 years ago. Unable to copy his harkat and murki, Anirban decided to learn music and has ever since been a student of this artform. He's currently a disciple of Dr. Digvijay Vaidya of Gwalior gharana. In addition to singing, he likes composing music and writing lyrics too.

Shivam Sharma (Poet)

Shivam Sharma is a writer and poet. He is an alumni of FTII. He’s also the creator of ‘The Mansarovar Project’ a YouTube channel where he makes Hindi/Urdu story podcasts and poetry videos.

Simran Khurana (Poet)

Poet, lyricist, and music lover, Simran Khurana weaves words and melodies into a seamless tapestry of art. A spoken word poetry mentor, Simran has guided over 1,000 aspiring poets and performed at prestigious institutions like Gokhale Institute, TISS and more. She is the founder of "The Yellow Room" and "Kissagoi", both communities of poets and storytellers in .

Manu Gautam (Poet)

Manu is a poet/storyteller at heart, who has traversed many terrains from films to radio to television. At an early age he was exposed to the Ganga-Jamuni traditions of Urdu-Hindi poetry, shades of which can still be seen on his expressions.

Having successfully hosted multiple open mics here, the conversation has already started. Now it's time to take it up a notch and have healthy debates about topics that affect our lives as common Indians.

Her connection with poetry is as strong as her connection with music, viewing the two as inseparable.
