Srinagar, Oct 23: Province Vice President Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Welfare Conference J&K Showkat Choudhary on Sunday expressed deep concern over the loss of lives in Tral and immense losses incurred upon the orchardists due to recent unseasonal heavy snowfall.
Showkat has expressed grief and shock over the tragic incident at Tral and has commiserated with the affected populace. He urged the government to come to the tribal people living in dilapidated structures and tents and move them to safer places
In a tweet Choudhary Said “Continuous Rains and Snowfall effected lives of tribal community living in tents in Kashmir,three persons got killed in landslide in Noorpoora Tral of Pulwama “I express my heart-felt condolences to the bereaved family members for their irreparable loss and pray for eternal peace to the departed souls. The administration should provide adequate ex-gratia to the family members at the earliest and administration should took immediate relief measures to ease the sufferings of our people"
He further said"After continuous shut down from last three years this snowfall reuined the entire livelihood and economy of farmers. People have taken loans on their Apple orchards to meet their daily needs, this snowfall destroyed more then 50% Orchards in Shopian.
Showkat Choudhary has Appealed LG Administration and demanded immediate assessment of the losses so that adequate compensation is provided to the affected growers without delay.
