Baba Ala Singh who established Patiala State was the grandson of Phula Singh, so this word is well connected with the Royalty of Patiala. This adventure was started by Late Dewan Tejwant Roy 'Sahir Sunami' who had a passion for Urdu literature and poetry.

He was a renowned poet of this area. He started his printing press with a motive to start a daily Urdu newspapers name 'Phulkian Samachak His elder son jagdish Roy Mangla joined the family business in 1953 and side by side he was studying and did his post-graduation in history from Mohindra College, Patiala He started with new ideas, zeal and enthusiasm His motto was quality and honesty and tirelessly and tirelessly and created a niche for the press in the whole region at that time. A few years later his younger brother Dinesh Roy Mangla joined the business. Both the brother worked with arms in arms to achieve proficiency in their business. Phulkian was Catering to the needs of both the Govt. as well as the private sector working for Punjab State electricity board, Punjabi University, Patiala, State Bank of Patiala, National Institute of Sports, Printing and Stationery Department, Govt, of Punjab Escorts etc to name a few in the early eighties the youngest brother Parvesh roy Mangla joined. Now Phulkian Press was under the full control of Mangla brothers. With the passage of time the press is growing by leaps and bounds and which enhanced its reputation and also its infrastructure. Phulkian Press which started with a small establishment with a few Letter Press Machines, now boasts of latest technology in printing. lt has bagged many prestigious printing awards. Phulkian Press has now entered the 21st century with the joining of 3rd generation, the young blood, Mohit Roy Mangla (MBA) and Raghav Roy Mangla. This is the 3rd generation in the business . They believe in hard work, sincerity and determination to scale new frontiers in the field of printing and at the same time keeping its motto of hard work, sincerity and high quality.This is the oldest and the biggest Printing House of repure of this whole malwa belt.
