Every week we come across a new restaurant in Goa, it's everyone's default business idea. But given how difficult it is to succeed in the hospitality business, what are the other options for starting a business in Goa?

Here are some of ours... Go ahead and tell us what you think, or add your own...

1. Bus Services - Cabs are highly priced even for short distances, so we really need public transport. The gap between the amount of people dependent on them and the frequency of buses is huge, besides the fact that it's way better for the environment and traffic congestion.

2. De-addiction Counseling - Tourists love the MRP of alcohol in Goa, but so do locals. Goa is India's party capital, and drug consumption has been on the rise too, especially among the young and impressionable.

Addiction is a real issue and there's a lack of professionals and centres that help one deal with the problem holistically.

3. Blue Collar Recruitment - As new restaurants and villas keep popping up in Goa, so does the need for blue collar workers. Every day, hundreds of daily wage workers wait at bus stands hoping to get picked up for a job. And the system of hiring them is messy, if not non-existent. There's great scope in making this process seamless for both, employers and workers.

How do you plan your social media calendar? Is it on the fly or do you plan ahead? Do you shoot, write, design and post yourself or get help from one or many people?

At Blurb, we have a system built from experience that works across our clients and are happy to share our process. Ultimately, we save our client's time so they can focus on their core expertise, which is their operations.

So here's our process in a nutshell. Identify the core USPs that need to be communicated to customers, translate into content buckets which repeat for reiteration, shoot pictures and videos, write captions, design, post and then monitor engagement.

Would you like to know how we like Chat GPT? While there's no doubt that the technology is revolutionary and impressive, we do fear the loss of jobs for many creative writers who make their ends meet through freelance work.

We have heard lots of opinions from inside and outside the PR and marketing world calling on us to embrace AI. But we can't help but think that this perspective benefits the developed world more than our economy and wonder if implications on the third world are factored in when decisions are made to race forward with technology.

We have used Chat GPT for long form content and found it generic but it did save us time. They say you have to give better creative briefs if you want the AI to produce more creative content, but it's hard to see the value of not humanising the content, with the help of well, a human.
