Good News!

Second SADA Case in Week in Pakyong

Saturday , Pakyong Police station team conducted a house search at Chota Singtam, Pakyong District and arrested two persons with the possession of huge quanity of Brown Sugar (Contraband substances).
As per source information , police team took swift action on receiving top off on basis of complaints from the local public.

Both the accused were booked under NDPS Act, 1985 and under Police custody as informed.

Pakyong PS arrested one Pramodh Gurung, 29 years resident of Chalamthang, Pakyong along with his vehicle with a substantial quantity of brown sugar at Dikling road, Pakyong on 23.11.2023.
It was reported that he was a habitual peddler and applying contraband substances to Local youth of Pakyong

Pickleball Association of Sikkim observed the Gandhi Jayanti by cleaning the community center premises. To make the Governments Swacha Bharat Abhiy aan successful, the players of pickleball from Gangtok, Padamchey, Pakyong, Ranipul participated in the event.
The program was well coordinated by the Incharge n staffs of Culture and heritage department, Pakyong.
The program was led by President Sonam Tshering Bhutia and General Secretary Hemant Jung Gurung of Pickleball Association.

Congratulations!

Here's yet another proud moment for Sikkim.

In the just concluded historic Nepal Sikkim (India) Pickleball tournament, the Sikkim team became victorious in mens singles gold(Kriss Lepcha), men's doubles (Pundim Lelcha/Kriss Lepcha) mixed doubles gold (Pundim Lepcha/Pritika Sharma) , Silver(Abinav/Passang) bronze(Aswin/Deepa) Gold in women's singles (Pritika), bronze(Prasika) doubles (Pritika/Yangden). It was the first international Pickleball match participated by Sikkim.

It was a great achievement by player's of Sikkim. It was also the first haul of international medals in Pickleball by Sikkim.

The tournament was organised by Mr Saurav Bhandari( President) , Shri Janak Padera(Gen Secy)and other executives of Pickleball Association of Nepal to promote the game.

Pickleball being the fastest growing sport in the world. Sikkim team was led by Hemant Jung Gurung as the manager and Mr Sonam Tshering Bhutia as the Chief Coach.

The tournament was participated by 30players from Nepal and 22 players from Sikkim. Sikkim team made the India in Pickleball game.

Vision of HCM: Transforming Sikkim Sporting Contours, a special meeting was held on 27th August 23 at Pakyong Yakten GPK Hall in order to organise Pakyong District level inter school football tournament 2023.

The meeting was convened by Shri Bishal Sharma ( APS to HCM, Pakyong District) and saw the valuable presence of Shri Sabin S***a ( president Pakyong sporting club cm State Youth convenor SKM Youth Wing), Shri Gagan Gurung ( Org Sec SKM Youth Wing), Shri Angdup Yonzon ( Youth Convenor 19 Rhenock), Shri Manoj Gurung ( AD Sports), Shri Hari Rizal ( President Sarathi Organisation East). Further teachers representatives from 12 Sr Sec School and 26 Secondary schools falling under Pakyong District gave their valuable and insightful presence. Members of Sikkim Educational Society Ms Mahima Grace Rai , Ms Ashmita Tamang , Mr Rahul Tamang also attended the meeting. Pakyong District Police solves two burglary case within 30 hrs. Two arrested with stolen cash and valuables

A case of theft was reported from owner of a resort at Pakyong on 20/08/2023. Burglars had broken into the restaurant of the resort at night and taken substantial amount of cash and valuables . Further it was reported that the same persons had committed theft from a nearby petrol pump on that night.

Under the direction of SSP/ Pakyong a team consisting of ASP / Pakyong , along with SHO Pradeep Chettri , SI Sangita Khatiwara and plain cloth personnel of Pakyong PS was put on the job to trace out the burglars.

The accused could not be identified initially as they had put on face mask and hood to hide their identity.

On thorough examination of the crime scene one white sumo taxi was found to be moving in the night suspiciously in both the areas where the theft was committed. After the footages were examined through CCTV forensics analyser and further leads were generated on the suspects and their identification done with help of Sadar PS, Gangtok.

Further a sharp vigil was kept on the bordering Rangpo Check post to nab the accused and subsequently one of the main accused, Sonam Sherpa aged about 27 years r/o Gangtok was arrested at Rangpo with the assistance of Rangpo PS to find that he was planning to flee to Nepal.

The stolen valuables and cash was recovered from his possession .The other co accused Vivek Chettri @ Badal r/o Gangtok was also arrested from Metro Point Gangtok with the help of Sadar and Ranipool PS team and recovery made .

Presently both are in Police custody and is learnt to have initially stolen the TATA Sumo vehicle to travel to Pakyong and commit the burglary and abandoned it Deorali Taxi stand in the morning. The said vehicle has also been seized as case exhibit.

It is learnt that both the duo are habitual offenders and involved in numerous theft cases in Sadar and Singtam PS and are also into substance abuse without any permanent residence.

The duo burglary case has been solved within 30 hours by the Pakyong police team and is to be lauded for their efforts .

Commendable Efforts by Pakyong District Police: Drug Suppliers Apprehended in Naxalbari, West Bengal

The recent actions taken by the Pakyong district police deserve recognition as they successfully apprehended drug suppliers who were operating in Naxalbari, West Bengal.
The major breakthrough came after a follow-up raid conducted by the Rangpo Police in Mahjitar on 12.07.2023.

Led by Additional Superintendent of Police, Shri. Rinzing Chopel Rai, the Pakyong district police team, including PI Pradeep Chettri and the investigating officer, SI Ashim Rai, displayed remarkable dedication and skill in tracking down the suppliers of brown sugar to Sikkim. The alleged suppliers, identified as Md. Samim alias Salim and Md. Nizamul, were known to be conducting their illegal activities near the Indo-Nepal border in the areas of Naxalbari and Pani Tanki.

Taking swift action, on 20.07.2023, the Pakyong district police, assisted by the Bengal police, conducted a well-coordinated raid at the suspects' bases in Naxalbari and Panitanki, leading to their successful arrest. Along with the arrests, a substantial amount of 200 grams of brown sugar was seized as evidence.

Following their apprehension, the alleged individuals were taken into police custody and are presently being held at the Rangpo Police Station.

This operation stands as a significant milestone in the fight against drug trafficking in the region, thanks to the commendable efforts of the Pakyong district police team and their collaboration with other law enforcement agencies. Their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the community is highly appreciated.

Pakyong : A Progressive Poultry Farmer with Physical Disability Allegedly Found Dead by Hanging

In a tragic incident, a poultry grower in his middle age, identified as Chulu Thapa, has been found dead by hanging. According to the family, Thapa suffered from a partial disability, affecting his shoulder and leg. The local authorities have detained an individual for questioning in relation to the case.

The incident occurred on Monday morning at Thapa's farmhouse located approximately 2 to 3 kilometers away from his residence in Challamthang. The circumstances surrounding the alleged su***de are currently under investigation by the police.

A body has been sent for postmortem to STNM Sochyagang.

This program is to make the children know their local personality who have excelled in their life. This is to encourage the children that very people around us are the pioneers of the society and inspire them to become such great person. This also makes the children to build a positive thinking.
Today's guest of Know your Personality was Mr Asis Rai, ISL player of Mohan Bagan FC n U19 India.
He was grandly welcomed by the HM, Shri Kailash Sharma, staffs n student of Pakyong JHS.
In the program, his biography was delivered to the staffs n students by the HM. He was also felicitated by the School for his achievements.
The program saw a great inspirational speech by Mr Asis Rai. He advised the students to remain away from drugs, alcohol and anti social activities. He shares his experience of hard work till today. He asked the students to focus in three Days, Devotion, Dedication and Determination. He encouraged the students to make their parents, teachers n society proud. The students were highly motivated by his deliverance.
