On 6 June 2025, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the worldโ€™s highest railway bridge, the Chenab Rail Bridge, and Indiaโ€™s first cable-stayed rail bridge, the Anji Khad Bridge, during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chenab Rail bridge stands at an elevation of 359 meters (1,178 feet) above the Chenab River, and the Anji Khad Bridge stands a height of 331 meters above the riverbed and is 725 meters in length, supported by 96 high-tensile cables.

A Contract Agreement was signed between Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) and Alstom Transport India Limited for the procurement of 32 driverless 3-car (UTO) trains consisting of 96 cars for Phase 2 of Chennai Metro.
