The recognition accorded to Cost Management Accountants (CMA) qualification on par with the PG Degree, by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education; has given fillip to the CMA Course. This has opened up multiple new vistas for students opting for it.
The CMA course is a specialized Cost Accountancy course, offered by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI). With this recognition,the post intermediate two-and-half year CMA course can provide the students with a head start in their career vis-a-vis their peers. It also enables them to pursue for Ph.D. or specialization courses in India or abroad, enhance their skills and be career ready in the intensely competitive job market.
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India is all set to start its next academic program. Students passing out of Class 10th are eligible for admission to the Foundation Course offered by the Institute. IIT Kharagpur has instituted eight new student grants for the autumn semester scheduled to begin in August this year as a group of alumni and their families have raised a corpus of over Rs 2 crore.
The institute has received generous grants from eight alumni and their families, who have come forward to support the students in need.
The aids are collectively valued at around Rs 2.25 crore which will be utilised to support undergraduate and postgraduate students of chemistry and various engineering departments through merit-based scholarships and awards.
A key feature of these grants is that over Rs 65 lakh has been allocated for undergraduate female students exclusively.

Ed4All, a digital Formal Education platform has partnered with Microsoft to offer 400 scholarships for female students across eight districts of India, starting with Faridabad in Haryana.
To drive womenโs literacy in India, Ed4All and Microsoft announced that they will set up the BLEAP Scholarship for Woman of Tomorrow. The scholarship will support girls to study from Class 9 to 12 on NIOS and Microsoft Learn curriculum.
Both will also set up a BLEAP Microsoft Centre of NIOS Excellence (CoNE), a digital library in anchor NIOS Study Centres across the country to enable children to access digital content on devices, as per an official release.

The HECI will be a single overarching umbrella body for higher education, as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

BYJUโs, Indiaโs second most valuable startup, on Monday announced the purchase of Aakash Educational Services Ltd (AESL) for about $1 billion, in what is touted to be the most expensive acquisition in the Indian edtech space. The deal also marked Byjuโs focus on the Indian market for test preparations.
The company could potentially overtake digital payments firm Paytm as Indiaโs most valuable startup. Paytm is valued at around $16 billion where as Byjus is valued at $13 billion now.
Byjus is exploring the blended hybrid model, including online and offline learning, for some time now, which we believe is the right format.

IIM Jammu :
The B-School said it is introducing an Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), a five-year intensive course to blend the seamless transition from undergraduate to postgraduate level
The Indian Institute of Management in Jammu (IIM-Jammu) wants to inculcate diversity and look beyond engineers in management classrooms.
IIM Jammu director B.S. Sahay said his institution is starting a national entrance test that will be delivered by National testing Agency for selecting students for the program. The test will be conducted jointly by IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya through the NTA. He said the five-year IPM has been designed in alignment with the national education policy and first three years of the integrated course will offer multidisciplinary learning.
The first batch of the IPM of IIM Jammu will comprise of 60 students including a supernumerary quota of 10 seats for females. The entrance will be conducted on 20 June in 78 cities across India.

CBSE : he Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is making numerous arrangements for the convenience of the candidates who will be appearing in class 10 and 12 board examinations. The countdown for the CBSE class 10, class 12 board exams has already begun and the preparations for the upcoming board exams is at its peak.
With a month left in the board exams, the board has opened โe-pareeksha portalโ for various exam related preparations. This portal by CBSE will give candidates a platform to prepare for upcoming board exams with innovative activities.

The e-pareeksha portal has various sections for candidates convenience, including option to change of examination/ practical centre, uploading of internal assessment/ practical data for class 10 and uploading of internal grades for class 12.
Additionally the e-pareeksha portal will also allow the candidates appearing in the CBSE board exams to view roll number wise list of candidates for class 10/12 and submission of practical/ project marks for class 12 examination this year.
The candidates will be able to get all the information by clicking on the link of the portal and then selecting the required category. The candidates will be able to access all the information after putting in the required credentials like user id, password and the security pin.
In view of the rising COVID-19 cases in the country, the CBSE also announced that if any candidate is tested positive for COVID-19 infections he/she will be able to appear for the practical exams at a later date.

HARYANA:
Postgraduate students in Haryana will now get passports free of cost from their respective colleges. According to a decision by the government, a passport will be issued to students irrespective of enrollment and the service will be free.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar informed that the government is already running a scheme wherein the travel document is issued to students from their colleges. He said that more than 6,800 passports have been issued so far to the students under the ongoing program.
The objective is to ease the process to obtain a passport and encourage students to pursue higher education. When a student enrolls for a passport from college, he/she doesn't have to go through police verification and a few more steps will be curtailed.
Students will have to produce only necessary documents. All the required documents can be uploaded online. The identity card issued by the college will be treated as a valid document while applying for the document.
Students will also have to pay no fee if they apply through their colleges. When someone enrolls for a fresh passport through the Passport Office, he/she has to pay a fee of Rs 1500.

DELHI :
Delhi's school education board DBSE has been registered and an official notification detailing its modalities is expected soon.
The Arvind Kejriwal government announced the setting up of the DBSE. The DBSE, which was approved by the Cabinet on March 6, was registered on Tuesday.
"To start with, 20 to 25 Delhi government schools will be affiliated to DBSE from the 2021-22 academic session.
As per the official, the modalities are being worked out and a notification detailing everything is expected soon. The board will have a governing body chaired by the education minister. It will also have an executive body for day-to-day functions and will be headed by a CEO.
At present, there are about 1,000 government and 1,700 private schools in Delhi, nearly all of which are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Announcing the cabinet approval, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said the present education system focuses only on learning by rote that needs to be changed. He added that high-end techniques will be used to teach students of the new education board.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' inaugurated a happiness center at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu virtually on Tuesday. The minister said that incorporating happiness in the academic curriculum is a very crucial step towards empowering the nation and congratulated the institute for the venture.
'Anandam - the Centre for Happiness' aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, aiming to achieve holistic wellbeing for all.
"This step will take our education system to new heights, similar to the times of ancient Indian universities like Nalanda and Takshashila," the minister added.
"In today's times, when higher education institutions are preparing themselves for the post-COVID-19 world at both the external and internal levels, the coming up of Anandam Centre in IIM Jammu is an important step towards a stress-free campusโ.
