Parang, Arunachal Pradesh โ The Nyishi Baptist Church Council (NBCC) is set to host its 54th Annual Conference 2025, a historic and spiritually significant event marking the Golden Jubilee of NBCC. The grand Samapan Samaroh of Samutkarsh Mahashivir concluded successfully at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, marking a historic moment for the Vidya Bharati organization and the student community. The closing ceremony was graced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister P.D. Sona, among other dignitaries.
Minister Sona lauded the organizers and students for successfully conducting such a massive event. He appreciated their dedication and efforts in bringing together a large number of students to celebrate learning, culture, and holistic development. Guwahati, Jan 29: The much-anticipated Samutkarsh Mahashivir 2025 commenced today at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, Assam. The three-day mega event, organized by Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, aims to foster knowledge exchange and instill patriotic values among students from the northeastern states.
The event was inaugurated by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, attended as the Guest of Honour, while Kaushik Rai joined as a Special Guest. Several senior dignitaries and educationists were also present to mark the grand opening.
Speaking to the media, Lt. General (Retd.) Rana Pratap Kalita, President of the organizing committee, emphasized the significance of such gatherings. โThis kind of event provides students with a platform to gain knowledge beyond textbooks, encouraging them to develop a love for their country and engage in diverse learning experiences,โ he said.
More than 5,000 students and teachers from Vidya Bharati schools across the Northeast are participating in the event. The program features a wide range of activities, including cultural performances, a band display, and interactive sessions designed to enhance studentsโ learning and overall development.
Highlighting Arunachal Pradeshโs participation, Vidya Bharati patron Tai Tagak shared that 400 students from the state have joined the event. Stressing the importance of holistic education, he remarked, โEducation is not just about books. Itanagar Traffic Police have introduced a new sound detector gadget to crack down on bikes with modified exhaust pipes that produce excessive noise.
The device, demonstrated by the Traffic Police, is designed to measure the decibel level of bike exhaust sounds. If the noise exceeds the permissible limit, fines will be imposed under the Motor Vehicles Act (MVI Act).
The move comes after numerous complaints from residents about unbearable noise pollution caused by illegally modified bikes. Traffic authorities have urged vehicle owners to comply with legal norms and warned of hefty fines for those violating noise regulations.
The Itanagar Traffic Police plan to deploy this device at key checkpoints to ensure compliance and maintain a peaceful urban environment.

Choya was conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (Honorary) in Christian Ministry by the Apostolic Biblical Theology Seminary, New Delhi. Additionally, he was celebrated for successfully completing the 1st Edition of the Nyishi Bible Translation Project at the Deed Pastoral Range under the Nyishi Baptist Church Council (NBCC).
The program, themed "In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him" (Proverbs 3:6), was attended by over 500 Christian believers. The event witnessed the participation of several notable figures, including NBCC General Secretary Rev. Dr. Tagang Gelo, along with numerous Reverends and pastors from across the region.

The main objective of this program is to equip women with essential tailoring skills, enhancing their capabilities for economic independence. The registration fees for this training will be fully sponsored by APWWS, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder participation.
Speaking to the media, APWWS President Kani Nada Maling expressed her appreciation for the dedication shown by the adult students in the previous adults classes. "Initially, many of them could neither speak, read, nor write, but now they are confident, literate, and digitally savvy," Maling said.
