A whole sea of people quick to anger, quick to judge leaving no scope whatsoever for a woman to even put her side!!! How far would one go to justify this voyeurism against a girl who’s hunted down by everyone because because everyone else is doing it? How fair it is to pass a judgement without letting someone even present their part? Yeh Bhed-chal bandh karo! And while a lot out there may raise a brow on ‘how can you support a ganjedi?’, use that time to lament over the future of our country. Highest amount of retrenchment, officially in a pain phase of recession, and the largest degrowing GDP. Think!!! Yeh witch hunt vunt is easy bro! Kisi aur ki chudail! Sanu ki! Maaro pathhar!

A fresh leafy salad on this gorgeous rainy day.
Lovely because it has loads of things made at home. The Mayo (with olive oil and sugar free), the ricotta on the bread (finely learnt how to make it) and oven dried tomatoes (not as good as the real thing but chalega!).
The leaves- romaine, lollo lettuce, fresh basil, arugula and celery.
Protein- store bought ham slices (jugaad)
Big mention for the Haas Avacado!! So so good
Salad dressing- home made mayonnaise with lemon, blackpepper and dry oregano and chilli flakes
Bread is store bought pizza base toasted in a toaster, doused with olive oil, little honey and ricotta.
Kaafi fancy!!! 😆😆🤪

It’s enough already! Yes, I am grateful for where ans what I have gotten in life, yet it cannot stop me from dreaming or wanting more!
I know, times like these, we should be only ‘enough’! Safe Enough, secure enough, loved enough, healthy enough and just about enough... yet... enough is not enough.
When you dream bigger, you want more and most often than not when you speak of it, someone listening would talk about good old gratitude! ‘Be thankful for what you have achieved’ :)
Yet! Gratitude cannot be the hiding place for not aiming to reach for the stars! Dream big!! Fly!! Soar! And never be just ‘enough’!
Like Robert Browning said,

‘Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, Or what's a heaven for?’

This was the best ever salted caramel ice cream I had while taking a leisurely stroll in the gardens of Peterhof palace overlooking the Bay of Finland. The joy of soaking in the greenery, walking about wearing a large grin is all that I can feel today. Of course there’s the realisation that how the path of life has been altered with the virus crisis and how this memory would be cherished even more coz it will be a long haul before we go back to trusting the surroundings we live in!

Mandarin Orange drizzle rava cake! Yess! Just like that I made it all healthy with minimum white sugar use. This cake has semolina (sooji), ghee, mandarin juice and mandarin pieces with a drizzle made out of reducing the oranges and lemon juice. It’s a lovely cake to be had just out of the oven!
Recipe:
1.25 cup thin sooji
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda25 cup nqchni powder
1tsp cinnamon powder
Wet ingredients
1tsp vanilla extract
1/3rd cup ghee
1 cup gur/ shakkar/ raw sugar
1 cup orange juice with additional orange chunks
1 cup dahi (curd)
1/2 cup milk
Method:
Mix all the wet ingredients
And add to only sooji and nachni flour.
Now wait up for 30 min for sooji to flower. Yes this flour soaks up a lot of liquid. So don’t worry if at first the batter looks liquify. After half an hour of sit time it will look nice and thick.
Once the batter is dense enough, add the baking powder and baking soda.
And add some more slices of nicely cut oranges. Pour the batter into greased tin pans and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees c for 30 min approx. keep doing the toothpick test to see if it’s cooked through.
For the drizzle:
In a saucepan, add juice of two oranges/ mandarins with that of 2 small lemons. Add zest of one orange and one lemon. Add 3 tablesp of raw sugar to the same. Now let it reduce till such time that it looks syrupy.
Now take out hot cakes from the oven. Wait for them to cool of a bit. With a toothpick poke the cake a number of times and drizzle on the syrup. Yummyyyyyyy!!

Mummy ka birthday toh mummy ki recipe of dahi chicken and butter nan!! All love all happiness. .
For the dahi chicken:
6 drumsticks 🍗
Half a large dahi box
Garam masala 1 spoonful
Dhaniya powder 1 spoonful
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Haldi 1tsp
Chicken masala 1.5 spoonful
1 spoonful ginger garlic paste,
Yes u can also add a potato to the chicken marinade.
Now mix all these together in a bowl and leave it for marination for close to an hour
Now in a kadhayi or heavy bottomed pan heat up some ghee, add jeera and let it crackle
Add 2 finely chopped onions and let them sauté until brown-ish.
Post this add the rested chicken and bring it together.
The best part about this recipe is that u don’t need to do much post this. Just cover it with a lid and let it simmer for 14-20 min. Keep checking on it in the middle and move the chicken around so the masala doesn’t stick.
That’s it. Once the chicken is coming somewhat off the bone, u know it’s ready! :)
Serve with a generous helping of dhaniya/ coriander leaves. ..
For the naan:
Take 2.5 cups of maida
1 cup of dahi
1 spoonful oil
1 egg
A pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar
Now bring it together into a dough. The dough should feel stretchy and soft
Rest for 20-30 min in the fridge. Bring out and then make smallish balls and then let it rest again for 15-20 min
Now, post this. Take a tawa or stainless steel pan! Ensure it’s NOT Non stick!
Now roll up the naan just like roti. Pick it up with one hand and with the other put water on one side and now stick the same side on the hot tawa. Now brush some butter on the top with some sesame seeds. And then turn the top onto the flame. Once the top is slightly cooked up, looks like naan, it’s ready. Take the naan out with a nudge of a knife and on the base. Done!! .

Chicken in buttermilk curry! South style! हिंदी में लस्सी चिकन???🤣🤣🤣🤣

In a heavy bottomed pan, fry up some onion seeds (kalaunji), cumin (jeera), mustard seeds (rai) with some heeng. Then add two slit green chillies, curry leaves and cut garlic (4-6 cloves). Once things get aromatic, add 1 big onion diced and fry. Add salt, garam masala, haldi, dhaniya powder and black pepper. Then add 2 tbsp of tomato purée. To this add 250gms of boneless chicken and bhunaao it a bit. Now to all this add 3 cups of buttermilk. I had a large amount at home because recently made butter at home. If u don’t, no problem, take two big spoonsfull of regular dahi and add half part water and half part milk to it. Works!
Now usually I like my curry as is but my LO likes it slightly curry-ish. Else he calls it soup 🙄! So I whisked a spoonful of maida in a little amount of buttermilk and added to the curry. Mind u that changes the flavours a bit. So please adjust if u do add the slurry!! Tadaaaa!
Chicken in buttermilk served on a bed of hot rice!!!

The glorious dal ka parantha- my favourite! With home made makkhan! The key actually is onions, kasuri methi and kalaunji in the dough along with the leftover dal with which the aata mixed with besan is kneaded. Absolutely yum with a good helping of butter and mirchi ka achaar! has certainly taught us to make the most of everything cooked a day or two before :) ..
