PI Vijay Rane along with Pandurang Naik Head Constable Tosif khatif Constable Rajesh Gawas Constable Svanika Bude lady Constable Nandini Naik Lady constable Were present for the program With Regards HeadMistress Sr. Leena Mascarenhas of St.Ann's High School Thivim also To commemorate International Women's Day SCAN-Goa, in collaboration with Goa police and in association with JKA Goa organised awareness cm self defence sessions for students of 7 schools over the past 2 weeks. The objective was to work on prevention of cases as the number of cases against children are on the rise in the state. The students were briefed by the police personnel about personal safety and online safety. They stressed on the need for children to voice out when they need help and to speak to their parents or school teacher if they are faced with any difficulties. Road safety, cyber crimes and cases relating to these topics were put forth before the children. They also explained how police are friends of children and there is no need to be scared of them. Many children expressed that they would like to be police officer in future. The Resource person for the sessions was Sensei Dr. Kiran Shenvi Kerker, a doctor by profession and a consultant at Kirti's Health Abode in Panjim. Dr. Kiran is also a black belt and a senior instructor of JKA-Goa & taking classes at Don Bosco Oratory. During the session Dr. Kiran taught the participants various self defense techniques and also told the participants how they can be safe when they are outdoors by keeping in mind the following points:- 1) Be aware of one's surroundings. 2) Avoid being alone. 3) Attract attention when in vulnerable situation. 4) Use of appropriate power. 5) Run away.

SCAN-GOA, in collaboration with Panaji police organised self defence workshop for students of Govt. High School Dona Paula to commemorate International Women's Day.. PI Vijaykumar Chodankar, and representative Advt. Emidio Desouza Pinho from SCAN-GOA were present for the session. The Resource person for the session was Sensei Dr. Kiran shenvi Kerker, Senior instructor at JKA-Goa training at Don Bosco Oratory Panaji.
