57 Tourists Rescued by Sikkim Police After Being Stranded in North Sikkim Landslides
In a swift and coordinated rescue effort, the Sikkim Police successfully rescued 57 tourists who were left stranded after a series of landslides struck the North Sikkim Highway late last night. The landslides occurred between Chungthang and Lachung, a remote and mountainous stretch frequently impacted by inclement weather and unstable terrain.
The affected tourists were trapped in the isolated region as the landslides blocked key road access, cutting them off from immediate help. Upon receiving distress calls, the Sikkim Police promptly launched a rescue operation, working closely with local authorities and emergency services to reach the stranded individuals.
