The Irshad Clock Tower was built by Bahadur Nawab Syed Hamid Hussain Khan in memory of his son Nawab Syed Irshad Husain Khan.

It is approximately 55 feet, constructed around 1922 near the City Station. The clock was imported from England and installed in the tower.

This tower is more than a symbol of time.
It witnessed life and is a treasure trove of whispered tales, each brick imbued with the echoes of the eras passed. When the time comes, it will share them with the generations that follow, just like passing along a cherished family heirloom.

The , also known as the Turkish Gate, is an iconic located in Lucknow, Pradesh, India. It is one of the most famous architectural landmarks in the city and holds significant historical and cultural importance.

It was built in 1784 by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula, the sixth .

It is named after the Turkish poet Rumi, who was a major influence on the Nawab.

The gate is 60 feet tall and has an eight-sided umbrella-like structure on top.

It is made of bricks coated in lime, which allows for more detailed sculpting than red sandstone, which was the material used for most .

The gate was originally used as an entrance gate to the Old City of Lucknow.

It is now a popular tourist destination and is often lit up at night.

The gate is also referred to as the Turkish Gate because it bears a strong similarity in design to a gateway built in ancient Constantinople (today's Turkey) called Bab-i-Humayun.

Covering an area of 400 square meters, the Miyawaki forest in Aliganj showcases the Japanese technique of creating dense forests on any type of land, even non-fertile soil. 🌿🌳 The project, initiated two years ago with the help of local residents, has transformed a once-barren space into a thriving ecosystem.
Using the innovative Miyawaki technique, each square meter was carefully divided and planted with a sapling for a big tree, a medium-sized tree, a shrub, and a medicinal plant. The soil was nurtured to ensure optimal growth and sustainability. As the trees grow, the towering big trees provide shade, while the middle-level trees gracefully rise above the shrubs and medicinal plants. 🌱💚
This Miyawaki forest serves as a shining example of how urban areas can be transformed into green havens, maximizing the benefits of limited space. It not only enhances the beauty of the surroundings but also provides numerous environmental benefits such as improved air quality, increased biodiversity, and a peaceful retreat for the community.

Hello! It sounds like the Awadh Mahotsav or Wajid Ali Shah Awadh Festival is a wonderful cultural event that celebrates the rich culture of Awadh. I can feel your excitement about this five-day extravaganza that promises to be a vibrant affair filled with music, dance, cuisine, handicraft, and other aspects of Awadhi culture. It's great to see Uttar Pradesh Tourism, the Department of Culture, and Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi coming together to organize this festival and showcase the heritage of this region. I hope it is a huge success and brings joy to everyone who attends.

PVR introduces an 11-screen cinema complex in Lucknow.

PVR Ltd has opened an 11-screen "Superplex" in Lucknow's Lulu Mall, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. This move comes a month after PVR announced its merger with rival multiplex chain INOX. The new multiplex includes PVR's luxury format, LUXE, the multi-sensory 4DX format, premium large screen format P[XL], and 7 auditoriums with last-row recliners, with a total seating capacity of 1,841. The launch has expanded PVR's scale of operations in Uttar Pradesh to 158 screens in 32 properties and consolidated the merged entity's presence in North India with 438 screens in 100 properties. "We are delighted to partner again with The LuLu Group to announce the opening of our 11-screen Superplex in Lucknow which marks the 100th property in North under the combined portfolio of the PVR and INOX," said PVR managing director Ajay Bijli.
