Health Ministry sent doctors to see preparedness for Coronavirus in Ladakh

No case of Coronavirus reported in Ladakh LEH: A team of Doctor from Delhi has come to Ladakh to see whether UT Ladakh is prepared or not for the Coronavirus on March 6. The doctors are sent by Health Ministry as a team. The team comprises of Dr. Jugal Kishore, Director Professor &Head, Department of Community Medicine; Dr. Suneet Kaur, Assistant Director and Dr. Mahesh Waghmare, Deputy Director, National Centre for Disease Control, Delhi. Dr. Jugal Kishore said, "We have come to see whether UT Ladakh is prepared or not. So, we have already seen the airport and also discussed the preapredness. We have found that the preparedness is very good and whatever is possible they are doing it. The high-level officials are already trained on how to handle the coronavirus if occur. So far, no case has occurred here. Only the apprehension is here because Ladakh is a tourist destination. Many people have come from country like Italy and Iran, so chances are there that they may bring the coronavirus. But we have learned that army and ITBP are capable and supporting each other. So UnionTerritory Ladakh is quite prepared. We are sure that they are going to manage the things here. Whatever support is required from the ministry we have already committed."
