Inauguration of TOT in Tailoring for LRLM SHG Members:-
Padum, January 11, 2025: The inauguration of Training of Trainers (TOT) in Tailoring for LRLM SHG members of Block Karsha and Zanskar marked a significant milestone in empowering rural women. The event was inaugurated by Hon'ble Executive Councillor RD/PRI/Zanskar Affairs/ZDA LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi in presence of other sub-division officers, including SDAO Zanskar, Supervisor Handloom, BDO Karsha/Zanskar, AEE REW, DPM LRLM Kargil, Master Trainers, Trainees, and SHG members of Block Karsha and Zanskar. BDO Zanskar, welcomed the guests with traditional khataks.
This TOT program commences for 06 months aims to enhance the tailoring skills of LRLM SHG members, promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Friends Pashkum and Down Hill Kargil Shine as Champions of the 16th CEC Cup Ice Hockey ChampionshipKargil, January 4, 2025:The 16th CEC Cup Ice Hockey Championship concluded with great enthusiasm and excitement at the Ice Hockey Rink Bemathang, Kargil. The tournament showcased thrilling matches in both men’s and women’s categories, reflecting the growing popularity of ice hockey in Ladakh.In the Men’s Final, Friends Pashkum emerged victorious against Drass Warriors in a penalty shootout, securing the championship with a 4-2 scoreline after the match ended in a draw during regulation and extra time. The highlight of the match was the stellar performance of Irfan Ali, goalkeeper of Friends Pashkum, who was later awarded the Best Goalie of the Tournament for his match-winning saves.The Women’s Final saw Down Hill Kargil defeating Bodh Kharboo with a commanding 2-0 victory. Samina of Down Hill Kargil was named the Player of the Series (Women) for her exceptional performance throughout the tournament. Maryam from DKAS Kargil received the award for Best Women Goalie for her outstanding defensive skills.A total of 32 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams participated in the championship, showcasing the region's growing enthusiasm for ice hockey.Ali Baba of Friends Pashkum was named Man of the Match in the men’s final, while Essa Mohmad of Drass Warriors was awarded Man of the Series.Dr. Mohd Jaffar, Chairman and CEC, LAHDC Kargil, was the Chief Guest on this occasion and Executive Councillor for Tourism Kacho Mohd Feroz and Joint Director Youth Services and Sports UT Ladakh Tahir Hussain Zubdavi attended as Guests of Honour.The dignitaries distributed trophies, medals, and prizes to the winners and runners-up in both categories.Dr Jaffar praised the players for their remarkable performances and congratulated the finalists for their sportsmanship.
