ARMY ORGANISES FREE MEDICAL CAMP AT WARSUN KRALPORA, KUPWARA
Kupwara,22nd Feb 2022:- In an endeavor to mitigate the problem of health care and medicines to the Gujjars and Bakarwals residing in upper reaches of Warsun, 17 JAK RIF and 160 TA JAK RIF also known as Kupwara Terriers in collaboration with Sub District Hospital, Kralpora conducted a day long Free Medical Camp on 21 Feb 22 at Kashmiri Warsun, Kralpora.
A joint team of Indian Army and civil doctors including Orthopaedic, Gynaecologist and Opthalmologist were made available under one roof to perform free medical check-ups, dispensing free medicines and rendering advice towards maintaining healthy, nutritional life style to all patients turning up for health check-up and consultation.
Even during these difficult times arising out of Covid-19 pandemic, Indian Army continues to remain committed towards ensuring wellbeing of AWAM by conducting Free Health camp ensuring strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols with an aim to reduce hardships of the people living in the far-flung areas in Kupwara such as Kashmiri Warsun where access to health care has always been a challenge.
The medical camp witnessed a large turnout of approx 295 patients, including women and children, who received much needed medical consultation and free medicines from the volunteer doctors.
The response from the locals was overwhelming and appealed to the Army & the district Health department to organize more such camps in remote areas of Kupwara in future. Such initiatives by the Army goes a long way to promote peace, progress, wellbeing among the masses.

INDIAN ARMY EQUIPS SCHOOLS WITH COMPUTERS IN REMOTE VILLAGES OF KUPWARA
Kupwara, 1st Feb 2022:- Indian Army, Kupwara Terriers and global MNC Accenture, Mumbai in collaboration with an NGO "Digital Empowerment Foundation" equipped Army Goodwill School, Wayne, Upper Primary School Mirmuqam and Pir Computer training institute, Awoora with 25 computers on 01 Feb 2022.
With an aim of encouraging development and investing in the future citizens of the country Indian Army, Kupwara Terriers and global MNC Accenture in collaboration with an NGO "Digital Empowerment Foundationโ equipped Army Goodwill School, Wayne and Upper Primary School Mirmuqam and Pir Computer training institute, Awoora with 25 computers on โNational Freedom Dayโ 01 Feb 2022. The computers were handed over to respective schools in a befitting ceremony organised by Kupwara Terriers which was attended by School Principals, teachers, Sarpanches and resident students. The initiative of distributing computers was derived from the vision of supplementing education, encouraging multidimensional development of deserving students and to strengthen rural educational system in Kupwara. This initiative is believed to benefit more than 2700 students from the remote villages of Awoora, Gulgam, Batergam, Halmatpora and Bhatpora in imparting IT education while also enabling them in achieving their dreams and aspirations.
