AIP Urges PM Modi to Prioritize Karnah, Machil & Gurez Tunnel, Restore Statehood and Release MP Er Rashid

Srinagar, January 12 : Awami Itihad Party (AIP) has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prioritize the Sadhna Pass Tunnel in Karnah Kupwara. This long-awaited project, initiated by MoRTH and BRO, promises all-weather connectivity to the remote regions of Karnah and Tangdhar, which remain cut off during harsh winters, severely impacting trade, tourism and healthcare.

AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi emphasized the tunnel’s transformative potential and also appealed for the construction of similar tunnels for Machil, Gurez, Vailoo-Kishtwar and Shopian-Surankote, ensuring round-the-clock connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir.

Inam further urged the PM to release incarcerated MP Er Rasheed, who secured a democratic mandate while in Tihar Jail, representing 18 Assembly constituencies, 40% of the Valley’s population. “Releasing Er Rasheed would honor the people’s will and restore their faith in justice,” he added.

Additionally, the AIP called for the release of prisoners , restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir besides emphasizing the need to address grievances of the Jammu and Kashmir .

*Former BDC Chairman Langate Urges Parents to Enroll Children in Government Remedial Coaching Centers*

Langate, Jan 6: Former Block Development Council (BDC) Chairman Langate and Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) leader Showkat Hassan Pandith on Monday urged parents to enroll their children in government-run remedial coaching centers, formerly known as winter tutorials.

Pandith emphasized that these centers have highly qualified teachers who can significantly contribute to students' academic growth. He said the initiative is a great step in strengthening the education system and should be supported by parents for its success.

"We have well-trained and experienced teachers available at these coaching centers, and they can have a better impact on our students' education," Pandith said.

He appealed to parents to send their children from classes 3rd to 10th to these centers, stating that such initiatives are beneficial for students' academic progress.

Highlighting the importance of the program, he encouraged the community to appreciate and actively participate in making the initiative a success.

"This is a great move, and we should support it by ensuring our children attend these coaching sessions," he added.

The government has been focusing on remedial education to help students enhance their learning outcomes, particularly in foundational subjects, Pandith added. ゚
