Globally, healthcare systems aren't equipped to handle this crisis: an unpredictable, large-scale health challenge requiring immediate mobilization of resources and affecting the entire population. Debating these systems’ ability and efficiency to deal with it is therefore not relevant per se.

The pandemic continues to rage, revealing how similar people around the world are. We all are grateful to health care professionals for their good work, no matter what divides us.

We spoke to Dr Hari Prasad, president of the Apollo Hospitals Group of the hospital to understand how India is tackling the problem and what the future holds for us in terms of the omicron virus and how prepared the country is for such mammoth problems.
