8th POH- [SAKA CHAMKAUR SAHIB]
Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji, Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Ji along with 40 Singhs reached Ropar by evening and encamped in an open field.
When Chaudhary Budhi Chand found out that the Guru Sahib had encamped in an open field, he approached Guru Sahib to serve his CHAMKAUR FORT for the battle.
In December 1704, a heavy war broke out at Chamkaur Fort. On one side there were 40 singhs who were tired, hungry and thirsty and on the other side there were 1 million soldiers of Mughal army.
When the Mughal army launched a fierce attack on the fort, Guru sahib began to repel the attack by sending a Jatha of five Singhs out of the fort.
There was so much bloodshed that a Jatha of 5 Singhs were martyred while showing the essence of bravery on the ground.
After that another Jatha of 5 singhs entered the field. They also got martyred after killing a number of Mughal soldiers.
Guru Sahib’s singhs requested Guru Sahib to leave the fort with Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Ji. Guru Sahib replied, “Which Sahibzada are you talking about?” You are all Sahibzada.
Hearing these words of Guru Sahib, Singh got the answer they stood ready and began to wield their weapons.

In December 1704, While crossing the Sarsa River, SAHIBZADA BABA ZORAVAR SINGH JI & SAHIBZADA BABA FATEH SINGH JI) along with Mata Gujri ji got separated from Guru Sahib whereas Bhai Mani Singh Ji, along with other Sikhs, took Mata Sundri and Mata Sahib Kaur to Delhi.
When Mughal Army found out that guru sahib had left the fort with his family in the morning, Mughal forces rode on their horses towards Sarsa River.
Guru Sahib along with some singhs had already crossed the Sarsa River. As Sarsa River was very high due to constant raining, some singhs were beginning to cross the Sarsa River Mughals arrived and heavy war broke out on the banks of Sarsa River.
Mughals were so terrified that they started fighting among themselves and killed their companions in confusion.
Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji, Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji, Bhai Udai Singh Ji and Bhai Bachittar Singh Ji stopped the mughal armies But in the end Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji and Bhai Udai Singh Ji were martyred in the battle on the banks of Sarsa river and Bhai Bachittar Singh Ji was severely wounded.
The battle continued for hours Guru Sahib’s fearless and brave singhs kept on fighting by blocking the way of Mughals
for which Guru Sahib praised them and marched towards Ropar along with Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji, Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Ji, Panj Piyare and some other singhs.

Aurangzeb and Pahadi Raaje launched several attacks on Anandgarh fort. But everytime Guru Sahib’s Singhs fought hard and mughal armies were defeated.
The Mughals used various tactics to defeat the singhs, at one point Raja Ajmer Chand sent THE DRUNKEN ELEPHANT to attack guru sahib’s darbar GURU SAHIB then gave BHAI BACHITTAR SINGH JI (son of BHAI MANI SINGH JI) THE NAGNI BARCHA to kill THE DRUNKEN ELEPHANT.
In the middle of war Aurangreb sent Qazi and Pandit who swore by Quran Sharif and Bhagwat Gita that if Guru Sahib will leave the Anandgarh Fort he would not be harmed. After hearing the statement Guru Sahib planned to test the agreement of the Mughals and agreed to leave the Anandgarh Fort in December 1704 along with 4 sahibzaade 5 Pyare Mata Gujri ji and some other Singhs.

5th POH (IN BETWEEN BATTLE OF ANANDPUR SAHIB)
After about 6 months of war when winter passed by, Aurangzeb and Pahadi Raje started to loose their hopes and wealth over this war for which the mughal armies started rebelling against their kings and and similar was the scenario inside the Anandpur Sahib Fort.
The famine spread to the extent that there was very little food left for the Khalsa Fauj inside the Anandpur Fort due to which near
about 100 Singhs decided to leave anandpur Sahib led by Mahan Singh rataul, after hearing them, Guru Sahib sent bedava through Mata Gujri ji to convey the decision stating “you just have to resign by writing that you’re no more my Sikh and I am no more your guru”
After hearing this statement only 40 Singhs (Chali Mukte) belonging to Majha decided to stand by the statement and left the Anandpur Sahib.
Mai Bhago who was known for her faith and courage, she had a great zeal to serve Guru Sahib. Her blood boiled after hearing about 40 Singhs. She charged them with lack of bravery and faith after which 40 Singhs fought the battle of Muktsar Sahib and earned the title of 40 MUKTE by sacrificing their lives for Guru Sahib, inspired by the morals of Mai Bhago.

Mughals were forcing people belonging to different Caste and Religion to convert into Islam for which Guru Sahib’s fauj used to rebel against Mughals and for this reason everyone were proudly joining GuruSahib’s sangat.
Sangat’s increasing strength towards Guru Sahib was making mughals worried and they couldn’t find any way to ease their trouble.
Aurangzeb sent general of Mughal army, Painde Khan however he lost the battle at first move after the death of painde khan Aurangzeb played his next move by sending proposal to pahadi raaje which they accepted and formed an alliance against guru sahib and the war started
