*MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH, 194 BOTTLES OF SIOREX COUGH SYRUP LIKE CONTRABAND ALONGWITH 15 LTRS. OF ILLICIT LIQUOR SEIZED BY KATHUA POLICE; 03 HELD*

Kathua, 16 AUG:
*In its decisive action against drug menace and illicit liquor in the District, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Sh.R C Kotwal,JKPS today recovered 194 bottles of Siorex Cough Syrup like contraband alongwith seized 15 litres of Illicit liquor within the district and three persons were arrested.*

*Today on 16-08-2021 a police team of PP Hatli led by Insp. Yash Paul Sharma IC PP Hatli under the supervision of DySP Headquarter Kathua Sh. Shammi Kumar JKPS conducted a raid at Maggar Khad area and apprehended two persons namely Ram Dass S/o Nand Lal Age 28Yrs. R/o Ward No. 13 Hatli Morh Kathua and Arif Hussain S/o Ilyas Age 22 yrs. R/o Dhanore.During checking, 194 No's of Siorex Corex Syrup (Codeine Phosphate) bottles, which were recovered from their illegal possession.The said persons were later on arrested by the police party on spot alongwith contraband like item was seized.In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 380/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered at P/S Kathua and further investigation was taken up.*

*While in another instance, on 15.08.2021 it was reliablely learnt that one person namely Ajay Kumar S/o Kala Ram R/o Rampur is doing the trade of illicit liquor at Link Road Chhabe Chak. Acting on the same, a team of P/S Rajbagh led by Insp. Bopinder Singh SHO P/S Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border Sh. Sachit Mahajan JKPS conducted a raid at Rampur village and apprehended the aforesaid person.During Checking approx. 15 litres of illicit Liquor has been recovered which was purportedly kept to be sold in the adjoining area among general public to gain illegitimate profit.Thereafter, all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized and accused was arrested.In this regard, a case vide FIR No 154/2021 U/S 48(a) (f) Excise Act has been registered at P/S Rajbagh and further investigation of the case is going on.*
*Kathua Police once again requested people of the area to come forward and share information about any such illicit activity on 100 with Police for the cause. Your identity will be kept confidential.*
