भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन- आदित्‍य एल-वन को शनिवार, 2 सितंबर के दिन 11:50 AM पर को प्रक्षेपित करेगा। इसरो ने कहा, यह उपग्रह सूर्य और धरती के बीच एल-वन बिन्‍दु पर स्‍थापित किया जाएगा। यह बिन्‍दु पृथ्‍वी से लगभग 15 लाख किलोमीटर दूर है। यहां तक पहुंचने में इसे करीब 4 महीने लगेंगे। यह मिशन सूर्य के वातावरण का अध्‍ययन करेगा।

GORKHA PRIDE: Darjeeling Lad Sidhant Dewan from Singtom T.E, Selected for M.Tech in IIT Delhi

St. Robert's H.S Alumnus and a resident of Singtom T.E Sidhant Dewan has made our region proud by being selected for the prestigeous M.Tech program at IIT Delhi. He will be pursuing an Interdiscplinary M.Tech in Opto Electronics and Optical Communication.

Here's a short interview of his

TheDC: What motivated you to join IIT for Masters?
Sidhant: I guess the opportunities and exposure available in IITs was my primary motivation.

TheDC: How did you prepare for IIT admissions?
Sidhant: I focused on my strengthes and prepared for topics which I found easy. I also did group studies with friends, and solved many past year problems.

TheDC: What are the mistakes that you wish you had avoided during the preparation?
Sidhant: I wish I had started prepaprations earlier. I consider starting late for the preparations, to be my biggest mistake.

TheDC: What advise do you have for those who want to follow on your footsteps?
Sidhant: I'd advise them to study properly, as in focus on whatever you are studying. You should also have the interest in the subject you are studying, that way the focus will come naturally. Finally we should have self-confidence, confidence in our abilities, and our strengths.

दूरदर्शन की मशहूर एंकर गीतांजलि अय्यर का निधन हो गया. गीतांजलि अय्यर ने 1971 में दूरदर्शन में काम करना शुरू किया था. टीवी पत्रकारिता में उन्होंने कई कीर्तिमान भी स्थापित की. उन्हें चार बार सर्वश्रेष्ठ एंकर का पुरस्कार दिया गया था.
