SSP DODA HOLDS PUBLIC MEETING AND VDGs INTERACTIVE SESSION IN MOHALLA AREA OF DISTRICT DODA.

Continuing its efforts to organize public outreach programmes to listen the grievances of general p***c, SSP Doda, Sh. Abdul Qayoom-JKPS today on 4th of January-2024, paid a visit to Mohalla and held public meeting there which was attended by prominent persons/ elderly people, PRI functionaries. The participants while speaking on the occasion, highly complimented the efforts of police by way of conducting such public outreach programmes in remote areas for listening the issues and grievances of the general public. The participants highlighted many demands and issues of the area. A patient hearing was given to their demands and they were assured that their demands will be taken up at appropriate level and would be resolved on priority.

KULGAM:The anti-terror operation in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir entered the second day on Thursday as security forces continued search operations to track down terrorists who had briefly engaged in a firefight last night.
There has been no fresh firefight but search operations are still in progress, a police official said.

New Delhi: India saw a single-day rise of 760 new cases of Covid while two more people succumbed to the viral disease, the health ministry said on Thursday.
The number of active cases of the infection has been recorded at 4,423, it said.
The new fatalities — one each from Kerala and Karnataka — were reported in a span of 24 hours, according to the ministry’s data updated at 8 am.
The number of daily cases had dropped to double-digits till December 5, but cases have again gone up after emergence of a new variant and cold weather conditions.
The daily numbers were in lakhs at the peak of the pandemic, which began in early 2020 and has seen more than 4.5 crore people getting infected and over 5.3 lakh deaths in about four years since then across the country

New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the All India Conference of Director Generals/Inspector Generals of Police at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur on January 6-7, his office said on Thursday.
The three-day conference, being held from January 5 to 7 will discuss a wide range of policing and internal security issues, including cyber crime, technology in policing, counter terrorism challenges, left wing extremism, prison reforms, among others, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Arun Gupta, President CCI today expresses his deep gratitude to Sh. Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble LG UT of J&K, Sh. Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Hon’ble Advisor to LG, Sh. Atal Dhulloo, Chief Secretary UT of J&K for accepting our long pending demand regarding granting amnesty for settlement of tax arrears pertaining to Pre GST regime for the dealers who could not take the benefit of earlier amnesty scheme issued vide order no. 39-F-D of 2018 due to various reasons especially Covid-19 pandemic.

Arun Gupta said that this amnesty scheme will provide relief to the dealers on 100% waiver of penalty and interest under general sales tax act 1962, central sales tax 1956 And VAT act 2005. He further said that this decision of the government will result in minimizing the tax dispute cases.

Arun Gupta requests the business community to avail tax benefit of this amnesty scheme by depositing the tax arrears within the prescribed time limit.

Arun Gupta further said that during the initial stage of implementing the GST scheme there were some technical / other minor mistakes on the part of the dealers/ assesses due to unawareness about GST scheme. Chamber requests the government that those dealers / assesses should be given one time opportunity to settle their cases especially for the period 2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.

Arun Gupta also requests the government/NHAI to reconsider the decision of enhancing the toll tax by 100% at Nashri Toll Plaza as it will effect the business community/general public badly.
